Gun will be a GTA-style action game, set in the West in the 1880s, in cities such as Dodge City and New Mexico's Las Vegas. The game will feature plenty of Western celebrities such as Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid, Bat Masterson, Mysterious Dave Mather, Doc Holliday, Dirty Dave Rudabaugh, Jesse James, and Hoodoo Brown.
The murderous 'Dodge City Gang' has been on a rampage and you seek revenge, hunting them down between Indians and Mexican pistoleros. Main mode of transportation is any horse you can find or steal, and of course, Gun will include high speed "horse" pursuits.

Well, minus one million enthusiasm points for using light bloom, but otherwise it looks like it could be fun. Is this the "untitled wild west project" that Rockstar have been working on? I don't see the developer mentioned.

The concept sounds like it could be fun.
But those shots were 'meh'; unless you dig on jagalicious.

Not Rockstar, it's Neversoft. Big cover story on it last month in Game Informer. Looks pretty cool.

Definitely looking forward to this one. The only comment to the modelers / artists at Neversoft is that the horses' heads look a bit too angular. I'm guessing that's a poly limitation though.

Hmmm, Doc Holiday's in it eh? Well, it seems like limited polygon count is going to be this game's huckleberry.

I've always wished they made more western games, I just feel that a gta stile(or god willing, a boiling point stile) game set in the old west has a huge ammount of potential.

Will I be able to score well in rodeos by chaining railslides on my horse?

Not bashing the game itself on any merits...but how freaking lazy do you have to be to give the okay for a game title like "Gun?"
Seriously...

If the Tony Hawk series is anything to go by the character models will be horrible and the animations (save for the main character/s) atrocious. High hopes for the gameplay, but graphics are not their strength.

You mean someone is copying GTA's gameplay without copying the setting? Finally, someone gets the point.
I don't get it.
They released a trailer for this game that had no game footage but NIN music and a lot of imagery that made me think it was gonna be Se7en with a Gun or something.
What gives?
They're just doing GTA meets Red Dead Revolver (which is Rockstar's western game BTW).
I want more western games too, but I dunno about this one.

What are you talking about!?!? There's NO BLOOM in those pix! It would actually look BETTER if it did have bloom. With the highlights catching the sunlight, like things in nature and certainly a million movies. It would also soften the harsh jaggies (and no, it doesn't have to look all mushy like POP to be "bloomed").

This was like, one of the most hyped and mysterious games at E3, and it turns out to be a a GTA-clone in a saddle. What a waste.
God, if I was Neversoft, and I had been chained to Tony Hawk's leg for 6 years, and then, finally get a chance to do something different...I would imagine I'd like to do something WORTHWHILE.

It's for Xbox and PS2 as well as Xbox 360? Huh? Something tells me that games should not be simultaneously developed for existing and next-generation consoles.
