I was always wondering when GH was going to get around to this song. What's up with the bonus tracks though?!? Nothing in there to get too excited about.

There is some crazy stuff on there!
I would be very satisfied.
Paranoid? Reign in Blood? One? Pride and Joy? La Grange? Just to name a few that make me happy.
Lets just hope they get masters on at least the RATM track, because the guy they got to do the vocals on the one on GHII was a joke.

The final song is going to be on violin?
Yeah, that's the sketchy part to me as well.
But they just got my preorder cash for Pride and Joy right there. Texas Flood and Crossroads were my favorite parts of the original GH, and more blues gets me excited for GH3 a way I hadn't thought it would. Namely, sexually.

Well, the Dragonforce song will be nearly impossible on the higher difficulties. Other than that, yeah their not too exciting.

The bonus tracks have always been about bands that you most likely haven't heard of, and in the first GH, they were all awesome. GH2 had a lot of good ones, but there were some awful ones as well.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with the tracklist, though they had already sold me when Knights of Cydonia was first announced.

Yeah.... (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=982171#post982171)
This list is rumored to be the 70% done version that the Scorehero mods saw when they did a playtest of GHIII a few months ago. Give this HEAVY skepticism as one of the Scorehero mods erased the original thread and said it's not true.

I thought the idea of the bonus tracks was that it was a bunch of bands you'd never heard of?

It is the master track. Right before you play the song you have a guitar battle with Tom Morello who wrote an original piece just for Guitar Hero.

Blue Oyster Cult- Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll
And I thought they already announced that the song by Blue Oyster Cult was going to be "Don't Fear the Reaper"?
EDIT: Nevermind, that song will be featured on Rock Band.

Why not just get both? They are a month apart in release date.
I am a bit surprised to see Sex Pistols so high on the list. As I was not aware it took skill to play their songs.

Jeez, I raised my eyes at only 5 of the main songs. I'm probably going to hold off on buying GH3 until sometime in '08 then.
I'm so excited about that track list, I can almost forget that I can't play Halo 3 for four more days. Almost..

because I have so many games to buy I had to pick one of them.
And the Sex Pistols were a highly produced band that played more chords on one song than The Ramones did on two albums.

I will consider buying it just to try and master the Dragonforce song on Expert. Sooo insanely fast and long, yet so awesome.

They could drop half of that whole song list and put in one Led Zeppelin and AC/DC song each, and I would get the game.
As it is, its decent with a few standouts, but the bonus tracks seem rather weak. I'm hoping this is a fake or incomplete list.

The set list is pretty good but that is a weird Slipknot song to pick. Wait and Bleed was a huge hit and off there best CD. (IMO) Pus Disturbed, really? I saw them live once and they turned off all the stage lights and brought up the house lights because this guy as giving the singer the finger. Then he told the crowd to leave him a bloody mess he was whiny bitch. It was a small place maybe a couple hundred people total could fit in the place, including the upstairs the only place you could drink.

The first 4/5 tiers look really good, but the last few go too metal, and it's the mostly the worst kind of 'raaH, raaaaHHH, RAAAAAHHHH, RGHGHHGHGH' repeat-for-three-minutes variety too.
Still, it looks a better setlist than GH2, and a couple of those bonus tracks are more interesting.

You're being more liberal than I with the criticism - I think most of it is shit. Songs like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjTN4Av7qgE) or this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASrCCCrYr8A) would be infinitely more fun to play than a lot of these selected. With the vast archive of music out there, it isn't hard to pick some decent songs.

Some more Stray Cats and Living End (I know they're punk, but it's rockabilly punk) would kick some severe arse.
I want some more MEGADETH! Give us Holy Wars or Go To Hell or something... Hopefully they'll put some in Rock Band or something.

If this is the true list... not to sound like a selfish prick, but I'm disappointed. No Eagles, no Petty, no Nugent, no Tool. That alone just crushes my heart. Oh well, at least we got Metallica, but this list makes me sad overall. All the most obvious stuff a lot of people wanted just isn't there. Not that the list is bad (the bonus tracks are nice), but there's just a lot of pivotal stuff missing. I won't be truly happy until I see a GH game with at least one of the musicians/bands I mentioned.

Well it's quite obvious that they can't please everyone.
There are some great shit in their but Slipknot? their whole library requires only 2 fingers to play. ON A REAL GUITAR! but hey, its a video game, don't take it too seriously?
Have you played much Slipknot on the real guitar? I have, and I can say you most certainly can't play most of their songs with two fingers. Wait and Bleed for one requires all 4 fretting fingers. Of course with songs like that the difficulty lies in the rhythm more so than the fingering. Think about your right hand....it needs some fun too!
I want some more MEGADETH! Give us Holy Wars or Go To Hell or something... Hopefully they'll put some in Rock Band or something.
How about some Shewolf?!?!
I gotta say I love the unplugged version.

To all the Devil Went Down To Georgia wonderers, IF the Scorehero rumbling is true it will be a rocked up version done by the in-house Guitar Hero team (Wavegroup). In the right hands this song can shred, oh yes it can....
