EA has released the Battlefiled 2 hotfix after last week's snafu. This patch brings your retail game to v1.02 and addresses the memory leak that occurred after installing the v1.01 patch (which was then pulled). The new patch also addresses all previous fixes : an issue that caused the multiplayer browser to become unresponsive, some game controls were not available to be rebound within the Options menu, fixed a crash with rebinding LMB, AI becoming unresponsive, and a few graphical tweaks.

Uh, when you install the patch, all references to it say that it's 1.01. More exceptional EA QA work here.

yea, its a known thing, guess in their rush to have a hotfix out, they forgot to change the version #, but its v1.02.

I never uninstalled like they suggested. I was happy to see that this patch can be installed without having to do that.

Played a game or two and didn't notice any problems. Well other then all the team killing issues that have been brought up here and elsewhere many times before.

Can't get on any server without having a lagfest after installing this patch..... :(

I installed it and played for about 20minutes until it crashed back to windows.

I installed and played for 3 hours last night with no problems. The one server I was on was excellent. 32 players, lag free. The IFF bug is still there, but then it wasn't in the orignal fix list.

Pings are still screwed up. Retail version I used to get tons of servers pinging between 30 and 70. Now after this patch I can't find a server, even those I used to play on, under 100.

Try entering a value of something like 70 into the Ping box (which wasn't there pre-patch) and you may find that a bunch of lower ping servers show up, which for some reason weren't on the list before.

Strange, I know, but it works for me.

If I search for anything in the search boxes it clears the list of servers. The only way I can get the list back is by restarting the game.

greensky, that's the same bug I've been complaining about.

I managed to sort it out the other day... I unchecked all the filter boxes and then updated servers and it brought the list back.
