From CVG (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/) (I think):

We got to travel down to Bizarre Creations’ sweet-smelling Liverpool offices yesterday to take the fourth instalment for a spin - and it’s looking and playing brilliantly. Beyond PGR 4, Bizarre seems to be considering worlds outside of its roster of cities, and might even take the Kudos racing into the desert...

"I personally believe there’s a lot we can do by taking our vehicles we’ve already got and putting them into different, more interesting environments," said Talbert. "It doesn’t always mean outside of the city, it just means getting lets say more elevation - somewhere we can finally do big jumps."

"That’s what we’re looking for in the next game; going to deserts - that kind of stuff. Seeing how they affect the gameplay, see if we can get Kudos working their as well."

As for vehicles, the designer’s got plenty of ideas beyond the bikes and cars of PGR 4: "We could bring cruisers in, we could bring ATV-type bikes in. None of these are definite," he said, "but there’s are whole world of things for us to do."

What if it's set in a post-apocolyptic world, and the desert has taken over the city? :)

That, my friend, is a fantabulous idea.

I also would want an in-game system for modifying my ride at that point. It should allow me to put armor and weapons on my vehicle. Side-mounted flamethrowers to deter anyone trying to pass me... and the option for a detachable bumper in case anyone gets too close behind me. :D

I have about $1,000. We can make that our first initial investment to making this game our own. :)

OK i've never played a PGR game but this sounds like it's going in the Colin Mcrae Rally direction, also known as the toilet. The last Toca game that was worth a damn only had racing circuits in it. Remember when GT went offroad? Yeah, i still chuckle just thinking about how it managed to be even more horrid than racing on asphalt in GT. God damnit, just make the street racing great instead of adding something totally unrelevant to the series.

Well what would you put in for a sequel? They already have their driving system down, nearly 200(?) cars, bikes, and what is it 11(?) different cities with different night/day and weather conditions.

It's not like adding some more cars, or cities, or shinier graphics is going to make people all that interested in a sequel. At least they're trying to add new things for sequels rather than just updating a few things and calling it good like EA.

He plays professionally. He probably doesn't like the idea of ATV's.

Me? I didn't even like PGR3 that much. So much so that I still haven't bought Forza, because I'm halfway concerned that I don't enjoy racing games so much anymore.

Dude, it's not a simulation. It's for fun! It gives you points for sliding! Let them bring that fun to whatever venue that works.

torre kind of touched on it, thanks you kind sir. :)

I am more confused about the fact they are already under of PGR 5 when PGR could explode within hours of being released (bugs and glitches and network problems). I remember the same thing happened with 3 to 4 and they were struggling to keep up with the fixes, either that or they were just slow with the fixes. It also troubles me to see them go off road, but I will reserve judgement until I see the extent of which they do it.
