Jolt.co.uk interviewed designer/managing director of Splash Damage (http://www.splashdamage.com/), the team that rose from the ranks of amatuer mod authorship to create the celebrated Enemy Territory and the upcoming series-spinoff Quake Wars.
What blows my mind to chunks is that rather than asking questions about the game to which I personally hope would do away with the hive-infested BF2 like bygone memory, instead the interviewer goes on to profile the developer. That's right, Jolt wants to put me into a deep slumber with humdrum facts of life. Wonderful...
...is what I'd say to myself. But as it turned out, Paul Wedgwood had some rather quirky personal insight (http://www.jolt.co.uk/index.php?articleid=4246) to share about being passionate as a gamer and later, a developer.

The man definitely deserves all the success he's wrought and more. ET is one of the finest multiplayer shooters I've ever had the oppurtunity to play.
edit: awww, evil's a cwanky fella today!

Hard to get 0wned in a game whose graphics were so terrible that I couldn't stand to play it for more than 10 minutes.
Crappy level design, 3rd grader style models and a total disregard for the excellence that was RTCW's multiplayer.
There was a good reason Activision dumped this turd on the public for free - it sucked too bad to sell.

C'mon, it wasn't that bad. Besides, I like free, free is good.
The real crappy thing is that there's only 6 maps. We need at least 3 times that.

I don't grudge anyone the fact that they enjoyed it, FREE is good after all, but I am a bit suprised to see this developer getting a second chance and I really don't have much faith that they will make a good product the second time around.
I think the thing they really have going against them is that the DOOM 3 engine doesn't seem suited to multiplayer.

You need to lay off the pipe EA. While I will admit the game had it's flaws, the Multiplayer (the only part of it) was MUCH better than many games I've paid for.
