It's a short work week for most, and it looks like the pickens are slim this week. Stranglehold finally hits the 360 after a handful of minor delays and Medal of Honor Airborne hits the PC/360.

Perhaps the gem this week is actually a portable version of Worms for the DS and PSP?

Absolutely nothing for me this week, thankfully. The Brothers Solomon actually looks pretty damn funny, but I doubt I'll actually spend the money to go see it in a theater.

Stranglehold looks good for at least a rental. Also this week is the Live Messenger kit for 360.

Nada. Stranglehold demo was pretty fun but it already got boring after 2 playthroughs. I got sick of diveshooting all the time at one point. Bargain Bin Hero I guess.

I'm saving my money. Still have Bioshock to complete and Puzzle fighter to play.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing 3:10 To Yuma. It looks like a fun movie.

I'm definately going to rent Stranglehold. I want to play it but it looks like the kind of game that I'd love for the first hour and then just slog through the rest.

Of course, I'm going to be out of town for the week anyway kickin' it old-school at a resort way up north, so I won't be doing any net surfing at all. Eeek!

Please, no more games, Persona 3 is sucking up my time and I only briefly manage to play Jeanne D'Arc and D&D Tactics.

And now I need to get Bioshock completed, or fall prey to the spoilers in every forum I go to :)

"I love these calm little moments before the storm," i.e., my wallet breathes easy this week, for once.

All this talk of Stranglehold around here did convince me to check out Hard Boiled (even though I probably won't ever play Stranglehold). It was an okay movie. What got me was how utterly absurd it got. I mean, who would put their secret arsenal of secret weapons in the basement of a hospital? Okay, so that's a stretch, but I'll let you have it. But when things go wrong, what do you do? Kill all the doctors and patients as they try to leave the building!! Yay!!

That was just too much. And communicating in secret code through the tune of song quotes in cards sent with flowers?! Totally nuts. But kinda funny.

Shoot 'Em Up for me. Looks so over the top....

3:10 to Yuma should be good as well. Love a good western.

Come on guys, Sherlock Holmes AND Cthulhu...if you own a PC that's like an instant buy right?

That's right, I totally missed that one. Have there been any reviews for it yet? It's a cool concept, but I'm not sure if they could pull it off. Lovecraftian style always did seem to fit naturally into the slow pace of adventure games.

I can't believe no one is interested in Medal of Honor: Airborne, from what I played of the demo it seemed like a pretty good game.

It was a good game, the last six times it came out (CoD 1-3, Medal of Honor 1-3).

I'm interested in MoH: Airborne. Updated graphics, a new gameplay element, and WWII setting hasn't gotten boring for me, yet. I won't buy it though. Probably a rental.

I didn't like the FEEL of the demo. Something just felt off.

Hey, anyone know if Worms: Open Warfare 2 has hotseat multiplayer? I know it fixes all the graphical issues with the other open warfare game, but without hotseat multi, I can't justify the expense.

Both the PSP and DS versions have hotseat multiplayer. Dammit, don't go getting me interested in buying this game, I have enough to play as it is.

Awesome! Thanks for clearing that up, none of the reviews touched on that particular aspect of the game, and that's all that matters to me.

Oh, as far as getting you interested, apparently the development team completely rewrote it as opposed to fixing all the shittiness of the first open warfare. If IGN is to be trusted, it looks and plays like World Party with some new weapons and graphical updates.

I'd get the PSP version if I had a one, but as it stands, I pretty much have to get the DS version.

If I remember correctly I think that company's been putting out Sherlock games for a little while. I'm expecting a budget adventure title but I've got to try it good or bad. I found a demo:

Metacritic:
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/sherlockholmestheawakened?q=sherlock

Not bad. Isn't there a board game out with the same premise?

EDIT: Just played the demo. For $30 it's as good as bought. Old fashioned adventure game in first person. Graphics not stellar, but at least it runs good on my system. Now I just have to finish "The Mist" text adventure I just downloaded...

Well nothing there for myself, but thank you for the heads up. Still too busy with CoD4/Bioshock. Only 3 more weeks though and this thread will be goin nuts with the release of Halo 3(or dead with everyone glued to their television screens)!

Well, I for one will be picking up Stranglehold and MoH this week... on Gamefly. Both are currently in the rental category for me. Though, GF does offer a nice feature of paying the price for a used game if I like either title. Its a nice "try before you buy" option.

Looks like I picked a good week to buy WoW and Burning Crusade.
