Major Nelson reports (http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/08/30/demo-timeshift.aspx) that the demo for TimeShift (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/t/timeshift/) is now available on the marketplace.

Dr. Aiden Krone has made a Time Jump across the space-time continuum – a reckless act with frightening consequences. Now, a disturbing alternate reality has evolved within the bleak and rain-soaked Alpha District. Armed with the experimental Beta Suit, you alone are able to slow, stop and reverse the flow of time. Only with this ability can you lead the uprising to victory and put an end to Krone’s madness.

This is most likely the same demo shown off at PAX, which is good, cause I didn't get to spend as much time with it as I wanted.

I hope this is better than the first demo.

At PAX it seemed kind of like a cross between FEAR and Prince of Persia. You can manipulate time by pressing the default button which uses context to determine how to manipulate it, or by selecting either forward, pause or reverse specifically.

The reverse works different than you'd expect though. While everything around you is moving back in time, you are still able to move freely. So, instead of using it to retry a spot, it allows you to say make it to the other side of an explosion that normally would have ended up blocking your path.

I remember that first demo, and yes, it's better. It's actually completely different. Whole game got an overhaul.

Awesome. I can't wait. I've been wanting this game even in it's significantly crappier form.

I'm a sucker for time based mechanics.

This is one game that people seemed to have fun with at PAX that I never got a chance to try. Looking forward to giving this a shot.

You played Blinx, didn't you?

No, that must've flew under my radar. Did I miss out?

Ugh, yeah I remember that one. Holy crap, it was bad. ;)

But everything I've seen on the new TimeShift looks fantastic.

Blinx was a little corny at times but it was a fun platformer with time mechanics. It's worth grabbing from the bargin bin. It's on my Soft Reset agenda but down the line.

I dunno if it's BC or not, but you can find it on the REALLY cheap, so give it a try, I guess. It did have a sequel, but I don't think you are really missing out.

I thought it was pretty fun. Goronmon was spot-on describing it as an FPS with Prince of Persia-like qualities.

I just finished playing through the demo. I most say that's an awesome shooter. Definitely worth a try imo. And it's now on my to-buy list :)

It's a lot better. I'm not sure this is a must-buy but it is definitely a must-rent now. I'll read reviews to see if the multiplayer is great, if the story is good, and how long it is to make that decision. However, I really liked what I saw.

Ick. the controls suck (too twitchy), the time thing was cool, and it was simply confusing. I did not like it.

Yeah, I heard that the game had been completely revamped from earlier builds. It's definately a game I want to try but I'm not going to run out and get it day one...

Pretty much my exact thoughts on this. Some of the visuals were good at least. :o

Played the demo. The graphics are nice. Gameplay was meh. I'm not a big fan of FPS though, so perhaps someone who is would have more fun with it. It will be a rental at most for me, not because it might not be a great game, but it just doesn't really interest me at the moment.

Just so you know I won't be buying Halo 3 either.....

I thought the crossbow and shotgun were fun, the machinegun was quite meh, and I hate the design for the timesuit, it looks too slick for a prototype time machine armor.

I think the twitchiness of the aiming would be fixed if it was not as sensitive when zoomed, as I like it being twitchy when I am not precision aiming, but it was too twitchy in precise mode. The game would be an Ok future shooter without the time-shift, but with it, it becomes quite fun.

Sadly, the gameplay is not as awesome as what the cutscene shows in the opening. I want to play that game, with the disarming armed guys and shooting his friends with time slowed and stuffing grenades into a tank with time slowed, and then running away.

I played the MOH Airborne demo right before I tried Timeshift. Timeshift was far superior in every way (including that it's not another WW2 shooter). The controls were twitchy as stated earlier, but you almost need them to be that way for console fps games, just takes some getting use to I think. I felt the time dynamics and regenerating shield made the demo too easy (or maybe I shouldn't have been playing on casual, take your pick).

Overall was good, I may not buy it new, but perhaps get it used a few months after it's released.

I'm rather interested in this, I'll try it out tonight. I think the game is going to suffer a lot from me playing Bioshock all the time. But what FPS isn't.

I had to knock the sensitivity to medium to make the controls usable. It was pretty fun, definitely a rental and maybe a used purchase down the road if I like it. It reminded me of FEAR with no story, kind of a full game of Instant Action mode with time controls.

Just played it, looks quite slick. Nothing revolutionary but fun regardless - the lifeblood of the 360.

Wow.. I was pretty disappointed after trying that Demo. Those teaser videos on Marketplace had me excited about the game.. but after playing the demo, its been downgraded to a rent.

In one of the regular BC twists of fate (or the knife), Blinx 2 is BC but not the original.

...are they really making a movie or is this just a huge overpriced ad for a game that doesn't look like its gonna be very good?

Damn, even worse than that. I never want to play it again. One dimensional instead of four. It feels like a last gen title.

Throw me in the boat with those that did not relish this experience. It has the makings of a cool title, but the puzzles that use the powers are simplistic and arbitrary and the combat... the less said about the combat the better. Not my cup of tea at all.
