Ebgames (http://www.ebgames.com/) has new copies of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for 14.99 (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/242780.asp) online.

I confirmed through two local EB stores that this price is only valid online.

Deal is dead.

Sweet! Just ordered mine. Now I guess I should finish the first MP. I'm on the last boss after all.

Thanks! Just placed my order. I too need to go back and finish the first one now.

It's a fantastic game, well worth picking up. The limited ammo system for the dark/light guns was a bit annoying, but wasn't too bothersome.

MP2 has a lot more puzzles and challenges involving the morph ball, something I felt was sorely lacking in the first MP.

This game was one of my gaming highlights last year. Definitely one of the best games on the Cube. I enjoyed it more than the first Metroid Prime. I liked how this game was much more story driven.

I also noticed that EBGAMES has Metal Gear Solid 3 for $14.99 and Halo 2 for $29.99.

Holy crap. I need to get in on this, as well as MGS3 (which I played, but have not yet picked up).

I find it amusing that a pre-played copy is 35 bucks.

I saw my roomate playing MGS3 and it looked a little annoying. He was escorting some chick and she kept getting hungry and not walking. Maybe he just sucked at playing it, and I'm sure it was just a small part of the game, but it looked annoying. RE4 really pushed my patience with having to escort that girl around for most of the game (I never finished it come to think of it). Why do game makers insist on making us do that?

Because they know it's the easiest way to ruin a game.

Although it wasn't so bad in RE4, because Ashely wasn't a complete idiot all the time. She ducked when you raised your gun, and she didn't run towards the enemies.

The escort area in MGS3 is an extremely small portion near the end of the game. I remember it being frustrating, but only very vaguely because it was over so quickly. Intuitive? Not really. Game-ruining? Not close. The game's still extremely worthwhile.

then again, I wasn't annoyed by it in RE4 either, because I thought it was done with pretty quickly there as well, not to mention what Groo said.

Echoes managed to slip back as much as it moved forward, but it's still ahead of everyone else.

I'm not sure why, but I never got into the first Metroid. There didn't seem like much of a story to draw me in, and it seemed more like a platformer than anything else. The last platformer I really liked was Mario 64. Is the sequel more of the same?

I grew bored of MGS3 very quickly, so I never saw the escorting aspect of the game. But I thought RE4 was great, and the escorting didn't detract from the game at all IMO. Heck, ICO (one of my personal favorites) makes escorting an integral part of the game, altho it's a different type of game entirely.
