Pothead Games... um... I mean... Hothead Games (http://www.hotheadgames.com) sends along word that the upcoming Gabe & Tyco adventure, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness (http://www.rainslick.com), is heading to the Xbox Live Arcade.
Hothead Games today announced that its highly anticipated Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness episodic game series will debut on Xbox LIVE Arcade - the premier destination for digitally distributed, high definition original and classic games - in early 2008.

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One is the first title in the downloadable series for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system. Hothead is working with the Penny Arcade creators and adventure game pioneer Ron Gilbert in an intense collaborative development process.

I just watched the PAX trailer for this and it struck me as a perfect candidate for the Arcade. I come to Evil Avatar, and I see this. Awesome.

Sweet deal. I had heard it was going to come out for Macs anyway, but that info always seemed not completely confirmed, so I always worried in the back of my mind. This is great though, I can't wait to play it.

I don't even care if this game is good or not; I'll be getting it just to see their characters in a game and get to run around a virtual world with them! :)

I always thought that having this game come out on XBLA was a given.

Probably a given that the Penny Arcade guys would like to do it. But, of course, it's still up to the Microsoft drones whether it would actually be allowed on there. At least this shows to me there are still people in the 360 team with their heads on right.

Did you read the news post?

PC is its main platform. It has always been coming to PC. This is an announcement that it is also coming to XBLA.
I believe this will be on Steam when it comes out. That's where I'll be getting it.

I'll be buying this for PC, but it's cool that it is coming to XBLA.

I've been listening to the latest episodes of EvAv Radio, where more than one person from the Penny Arcade camp said "No, we have no plans to bring this to XBLA." I think Robert said that they'd been trying to get it done, and that they had basically hit a wall with Microsoft in the process.
I could be wrong, though.

They gave away a fucking 360 elite signed and with a fruitfucker drawn onto it to the guy that asked if it was coming to consoles.

saw them walk through the char creation and first part of the game at PAX. Looks oldskool final fantasy, with alot of narrative. Animations are great, and it's quite funny.
