Nintendo sends along a short Press Release with details on the pre-order bonus for Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

Starting Aug. 28, Pokemon fans who reserve a copy of Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness for Nintendo GameCube at participating retailers will receive a custom Nintendo GameCube vinyl skin featuring characters from the game.

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness will be available Oct. 3.

For the dedicated Pokemon fan, there will also be a Limited Edition Bundle featuring a Nintendo GameCube system and controller, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness and a Limited Edition Pokemon XD Face Plate.

Pokemon was introduced in North America in September 1998 and has since generated more than $15 billion in worldwide retail sales. Last year's Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen sold more than 2.6 million combined. More than 140 million Pokemon video games have been sold worldwide.

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is Rated E for Everyone.

The original gameboy games were interesting but this franchise fails to even keep the kiddies interested any more.

Why can't Nintendo just release a Pokemon MMORPG and thus destroy civilization as we know it.

I'm not interested in XD because it's follows after Colluseum where the Pokemon you can catch are pre-determined because of that shitty shadow pokemon system. It was interesting in Colluseum, but in another game it's just too much. This'll be the first Pokemon game I don't pick up on release.

Heh. Ruby/Saphire have sold more than 10 mil since release, and Fire/Leaf are at 5 mil in a little over a year.

That's like saying no one is interested in GTA.
