Another weekend and another chance to make some gaming choices. What are you going to be playing?

Bioshock again (on hard) and some demos. The Skate demo is growing on me.
Hopefully Bioshock if my computer decides to work. Also, just started up Twilight Princess for Wii, and that rocks, so I'll spend some time on that as well.

Well, I'll be playing some more Bioshock probably. I beat it last night, but I can easily seem myself going back to get some more research points and stuff. I wouldn't mind playing through it again either.
I may start up some CoH/CoV in a bit, I dunno. I'm in the beta for another MMO right now, so I'll do some more of that later. Might try to make some more progress in Luminous Arc, which has been on hold since Bioshock came out. Looks to be a pretty good weekend with so much to play, and so little else to do.

Bioshock as much as possible. My brother in law is down, so who knows what that will do to my gaming time. Plus I'm working. Boo.
When I'm not playing Bioshock, I'll hopefully get a little further in Space Giraffe without getting absolutely destroyed. I'm coming for you, EternalGamer2.
And the usual Picross sessions at work with a bit of Magical Starsign. I've got Heroes of Mana and Luminous Arc but I think I'll save them for after Magical Starsign.
I'd like to play some more Persona 3 (I'm about 10-15 hours in) but I really want to finish Bioshock first.

I didn't have enough cash to pickup Bioshock yet, so I restarted Halo One in preparation for Halo Three's imminent release. I had forgotten how much fun I had with Halo One, so perhaps this lack of money is a good thing.

Yesterday I won the BCS Championship in my NCAA 08 dynasty, so I might see how my recruiting for next season goes. Or, I might take a little break from the game.
I'll probably spend some time w/ MK:A for the Wii. And perhaps it's time to get back to Super Paper Mario - I got to Chapter 4 and stopped playing. In fact, I've got a pile of half-finished Wii games sitting on the shelf I need to get to: SPM, Godfather, Sonic, SSX Blur. I need to make a dent in at least a couple of them.
I'm sure I'll get my classic gaming fix in, though which system I play varies from day to day.

Bioshock on Hard. It's quite a challenge. I'm going to find all the weapon stations this time, and hopefully get all the tonics or plasmids.
I just got a 360 Elite, so my HDTV is finally displaying in all its 1080p glory.
If I need a break from Bioshock, I've got The Darkness and Hexic 2.

Xbox 360
Def Jam Icon

Xbox
Psi Ops
Psychonauts
(I finally played far enough into this game to really get into it, and now I have to find the damn Milkman. The problem is, as far as I can tell I need the Cobweb Duster in order to proceed any further in that story arc, but I only have about 300 of the 900 arrowheads needed to buy it from the store. I am enjoying the story but am not gonna grind for hours on end to find arrowheads just to play the main portion of the game. Can anybody tell me if I can actually finish the Milkman Mission without the duster, or alternately an easy way to score a crap ton of Arrowheads?)

I'm returning my rental copy of Rainbow 6 Vegas. It looks good and plays well (just remember to set your PS3 to 720p or it looks fuzzy as all hell...stupid reviewers played it at 1080i and 1080p and marked the graphics down due to their ignorance), but in the end I got bored due to the lack of variety in the environments, gameplay, and enemy types (exactly 1). I guess that type of game is just not for me. I much prefer shooters like Gears and Resistance with highly varied locales, enemy types/bosses, and gameplay situations.
I finished both KOTOR and Shadow of the Colossus recently. I called the ending to KOTOR roughly 20 minutes into the game, so that was a pretty big letdown, but Shadow of the Colossus had a fantastic ending, with the last few bosses being highlights of the game imho. Incredible game, just incredible. (especially with the upscaling and smoothing on the PS3)

Yeah, it's a problem with the PS3 version of Rainbow 6 Vegas. The Darkness, for instance, ran it's framebuffer at 720p by default and let your TV do the upscaling. It looked fantastic. Rainbow 6 on the other hand tries to scale 720p to the PS3 output and does it VERY poorly. To have it look good you have to tell your PS3 to max out your resolution at 720p.

I just finished, harvested every one of those little bitches. I must say, for playing on hard(as with most shooters) the game only got difficult when I zoned out and quit caring. But just like my "JC Denton" I manufactured a creature of unfathomable battle prowess, and who could hack anything to his heart's content. If Half-Life and Doom are at one end of the linear spectrum, Oblivion at another, I must say that Bioshock, like Deus Ex, lies somewhere in the middle, but a shade closer to a rail shooter than STALKER. Pipe Dream, once I maxed out those tonics, was a breeze, I dabbled with sneaking, but found that raw combat was easier. Each person does, indeed, make their own experience of every sequence. But I could not picture tangling with those Rosies if I had not harvested the little girls.
I would like to review this, but I doubt that is needed.

I'm trying to play the Medal of Honor Airborne demo but the download keeps dying on me. Trying to compare and contrast Bioshock on my PC and 360 but the download on that demo keeps dying on me. Between the water not showing up in Tomb Raider Anniversary, the sky constantly "tearing" on me in Stalker and other Windows odds and ends, I'm about to swear off PC gaming forever. There's something nice about putting a disc in and playing the game or downloading demos without issues. I know I should get a dedicated gaming rig but my money is well spent in other places right now. That and I think I've finally reached a point where I don't have time to tweak my system anymore. I was around the days when I was wondering why Space Quest was only showing up in 4 colors instead of 16 on my dad's work computer. (If you know what I'm talking about you've been around too.) PC gaming has worn me down at age 36. Ahh...what am I saying...I'm addicted. I'll be back to loading games on my computer that were never meant to run on my computer in a couple of weeks.
Sorry everyone...just venting. I'll be finishing Bioshock and Rainbow Six Vegas this weekend...on the 360 of course.
I'm just in middle of setting up a Lan party tonight for some Halo2 action in prep for Halo3. There should be 11 of us tonight so should be pretty fun, other games marked down for play are Mario Kart64, Gears of War and Street Fighter Alpha 2 plus prolly some other random shit.

15 hours and change according to Steam. I played it like a shooter, I can imagine that people who play more stealth fully will get a longer run out of the game(and you can play stealth style). It reminded me a lot of Deus Ex in that way, I played heavily an assault style(hacked security bots and gun turrets, maxed the speed, really made sure I upgraded all of my guns). I explored a lot, as well.
This is not Stalker or Oblivion, there is not a lot of space to explore, unfortunately. You are under the sea(down where it's wetter, everything's better)...

The difference between leaving an actual trail in water or just foam keeps you from playing Bioshock until you can get it working in Vista? That water trail must be something because from the H2H video I've seen on IGN and a few screenshot comparisons, It didn't seem DX10 improved the experience much at all.
