Worthplaying (http://www.worthplaying.com/) has posted new screenshots (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26638&mode=thread&order=0) of the upcoming FPS CellFactor for your viewing pleasure. The game is being developed for the PC and Xbox360.

The cyborg enemy looks like a reject from System Shock. :)

The game looks too generic. Hard to believe it's for Xbox 360 and not Xbox.

Well it is pretty jaggy-licious, so it's not that hard to believe it's for Xbox 360.

What the hell is going on in this (http://www.worthplaying.com/press/183/cellfactor_06.jpg) picture? That is some specular-tastic skin!

Besides that it doesn't look too bad -- nothing incredible, most of those screenshots are in sort of bland environments.

The linked screenshot from the post above is the worst case of plastic I've ever seen.

Is it just me or are all next-generation 360 titles looking worse than current gen games...

Not all. Certainly not all. But you're right, a lot of them look like shit, graphically. I think most of them are current-gen games that have just been pushed back.

Oh well. Even if MS put out 200 games at launch, I'd still only be buying 2 or 3. If the others are crappy, that just makes it that much easier not to buy them. We should see an end to this sort of crap after the initial launch-flood ends.

I wouldn't put any sort of blame on the Xbox2. There are a few games that look beautiful -- it has more to do with developers. And yea, some of them probably are pushed back current gen games (it wouldn't surprise me in the least).

First generation games of any console is sort of hit or miss on graphics. Over time once developers bother to put some sweat into optimizing for the console we'll get some spectacular looking games (this goes for all consoles of course).

Spot on comment.
Look at early PS2 games compared to now. If you don't think the issue lies in developers and not the hardware you are wrong. But, one would have hoped that the much touted 'XNA' would have made programming easy enough that the first wave of games wouldn't look like it belong on an Xbox...or PS2 for that matter.

I agree Bobbler. It is dissapointing from a graphics point of view but most developers haven't got the hang of the hardware yet.

I does look very current generation. :)
