gotta say the game is looking kick ass now, it may have been a bad idea to show the game so much when it was in much rougher forms, but i guess it doesnt really matter as what im seeing looks fucking awesome.

That was the idea all along ... so as to increase the "OMFG" and the "Blown away" factor. Now people will be scrambling to get a copy.

Wow thats a big difference from previous shots, makes sense now why bungie was being all mysteriuos and coy about the multiplayer visuals. Johnymitsu they could have shown the rough form on purpose so when they release the real graphics on us there is a greater buzz.

That's Ensemble Studios that is working on it. Those are the guys that made the Age of Empires series.

Im actually impressed... Ive always though Halo was over-hyped but STILL enjoyed playing them (single and multiplayer)
It was like a comedy that always delivered jokes, but you never thought it was the funniest thing you've seen...

But with these new shots (and getting to see the game in action) ive become a pre-order.... Seems like Bungie is almost at Blizzard's level (releasing quality games)

I think once you reach Legendary status with gamers and non gamers all over the planet you need that level. Few companies can and/or will do this. You need to be confident in your product and your fans. Maybe Bungie should do a Halo MMORPG? ;)

Supposedly the AA has been bumped up and the jaggies that were present in the Beta (which still looked pretty good, imo) are gone.

Did anyone really believe that the multiplayer graphics were the be all end all for single player anyway? I can't believe it was such a contention to begin with. The words BETA and MULTIPLAYER should have been a dead giveaway.

I grew up on Ensemble Studios' games. With the exception of some letdowns in AoM, they are a fantastic dev company. They'll do a great job on Halo Wars, I have no doubt.

Is it just me or do the character models ruin the impact of the backdrops? The best shots of the group seem to be the landscape ones. Almost like watching Bob Ross paint, and you're like "Wow, that's awesome! How could it get any better?". Then Ross draws in Beavis and Butthead.

I think it would be really funny if they worked on a Marathon game after this, since it's essentially an identical universe. Microsoft would come in with their mandate, giving the order like it's a gift to Bungie, then one by one the developers would just shoot themselves in their chairs.
