French website Jeux France has brand new screenshots (http://www.jeux-france.com/news11110_the-house-of-the-dead-4-devoile.html) of the next House of the Dead game on XBox 360.
The text mentions it will appear in arcades first and a bit later on XBox 360 (does that mean Sega have 360 arcade versions?). It should be out winter 2005.
Editor: We got undead with bling and mohawks right here. Yeah.

Well, that was disapointing.

This looks like the critics have said, Xbox 1.5
Plus the subject matter is so stupid. Zombies? Can't we do better?
This just proves that there is no way in hell any games for the PS3 or Xbox360 are going to look like the movies shown at E3. It is going to be a massive reality check when the first generation comes out. I wish there was some way to put money down on this because I could make a fortune off of these fanboys.

Ugh, that looks damned hideous. I'm not talking about the zombies, I'm talking about the graphics that seem to be main reason to actually be interested in next-gen consoles :/ I think they're genuinely underperforming here, which is no suprise, since Sega make murder porn now.

So a game looks crappy without all the crazy effects and animations going on? Wow!
Really guys, stop judging games based on damned screenshots(There is a leaked video which you could make a real judgement off of) when we all know they havent been doing games justice for years, now excuse me while I play my PS 1.5 (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/xsquad/screens.html?page=70)

I really hope the 360's controllers kick all sorts of ass, because the 360's actual screenshots (as opposed to the imaginary screenshots shown at E3) aren't screaming "$399 launch!" to me.
Hey I wonder if the voice acting will be as awesome as it is in the other games.

Those are from the arcade version. Which is based on Sega's new Lindbergh arcade boards (next-gen PowerVR supposedly). As far as I know there haven't even been any announcements of a console version of HOTD4 yet, let alone actual screenshots from them.
Again, these are from the arcade version and not from any console. They were just released when Sega had their little event to announced HOTD4 arcades -- you get Uzi's (or something similar) this time.

Am I the only one that actually wants a game with a gun again? HOTD games are only fun when you have an actual gun in your hand, none of this controller crap. If there is a gun released along side this game I am all over it.

I completely agree with Milkaxor.

I kinda like Light Guns, but they are somewhat innaccurate.
I wonder if the Revolution controller will also work as a light gun?

That makes sense, considering the 360 is not launching at $399. It has been repeatedly said that the 360 will cost in the neighbourhood of $300. Many are speculating that it will retail for the cheesy price of $360, but that price is looking like it will be higher than the actual retail. If any console has to sell for $400, it will be the PS3.
Anyways, although these screens look like they are from the alpha kits [no AA and so forth], the bottom line is that screenshots are becoming a less and less reliable way to judge games. The new texturing and lighting techniques simply do not look remarkable unless they are seen in motion.

I heard lightguns don't work with anything other than old CRTs TVs (meaning no HD or other plasmas) - is that true?

Yes. Current lightguns only work on CRTs.

I'm one that firmly believes that gameplay > graphics.
With a light-gun game though, there isn't much gameplay. They are just point-and-shoot.
That said, these screens look completely asstacular. I can't wait for the next generation of consoles so I can see terrible graphics in HD!

That's what I thought. I'd like to know where this Xbox 360 bullshit is coming from.

Xbox + Sega game = Low sales of said game. It's a proven equation.

Well do you happen to know the specs of the new Sega arcade board? They might be more powerful than the 360. :D

I get the feeling that most of the launch games for the 360 were started as current-gen games, but got bumped back for sales reasons. They have that look of old engines that have had a thin coat of next-gen gloss slapped on them.
There are really only 3 or 4 games for the 360 which look legitimately next-gen. Those being Gears of War (or any other U3-based game,) Oblivion, PGR3, Ninety Nine Nights and MAYBE Full Auto.

Bland aren't they? No bump-mapping on the zombies, which all look the same, and the architecture of the rooms lack... architecture! Seriously, excluding the enemies the screenshots show nothing but empty rooms.

There is bumpmapping on the zombies and the big RE:4-like monster although it looks like shit (way too low-res).

This is a pretty good argument for Sega not doing a new Streets of Rage game. CAN'T THESE IDIOTS DO ANYTHING RIGHT

Well, they're putting Treasure to work. That's something.
