The Postal Movie Is Really Bad

Apparently, the opening intro is funny, and the rest is just a pile of flat jokes and offensive content just for sake of being offensive. Don't take my word for it, take Wired's:

"Boll seems out to shock his audience into stunned disbelief rather than actually entertain them. Early in the movie, we get a long, leisurely shot of a fully nude Foley scratching his reproductive organs. I don't want to sound like I personally was offended or shocked by anything. In fact, the only time I laughed was during the movie's opening sequence, a comedy skit in the cockpit of one of the September 11 airplanes (they're fighting over the number of virgins they get in Paradise). It was legitimately well-paced and funny. But it was followed by 90 minutes of flat jokes."

You honestly couldn't pay me money to go and see one of his films. On your word alone, I'm inclined to believe that everyone who stood and clapped at the film should have been stabbed in their eyes. ya i do work at Running With Scissors, and like i said WE DID NOT WANT HIM MAKING THE FILM but a deal is a deal and were a small company so having a game made is something that even we as a small developer wanted done. We didnt want the movie to be a slap stick comedy like it is, but thats what Uwe wanted. Like i said, he didnt strike comedy gold, SUPERBAD is comedy gold, i saw that last wednesday (funniest movie i have ever seen to be honest), but POSTAL is its own entity. It stands up to the shit that it stands next to (Airplane, Epic movie, Scary Movie, Hot Shots, and all the other stupid slapsticks) Like i said, you dont have to believe me, but it is the best movie hes made so far, and i REALIZE that isnt saying much....but take it for what its worth!

Uwe ran away during the presentation of Dungeon Siege with a dummy excuse... it probably was the first time he saw the whole movie and found that it sucked so much he left.


Postal is great because the movie doesn't take itself seriously. It's very far from the Airplanes and Top Secret movies, but I could see Uwe do successful movies of that type.

The german tax break... Irony is that Uwe was one of the few directors using it the RIGHT way. Get x$ funding from a company for a movie. Movie has to be a German production, ie: has to give jobs to Germany residents.. Can affiliated with another country. Then, if the movie does not make x$, the loss can be declared as a tax break from the funding company. Other directors just produced their movies somewhere else and companies claimed the tax break.

The loop that was closed will affect other directors. Not Uwe Boll.

Besides, he said it himself in the movie how he gets his money. Hidden Nazi Gold.

I share the same humor as the RWS games, and being a fan of horror movies that are "so bad they are good", I can definately see myself enjoying Postal.

By the way, I hope you're not RWS texture artist, cause if so, YOU SUCK! Anyways, enjoy all your other work ;)

I don't think it's surprising that he keeps making movies, because no matter how much they suck they are cheap enough to make and high profile enough to make their money back... eventually. I just wonder how they manage to keep being high profile. I mean postal/bloodrayne/dungeon seige aren't exactly household names, this should be straight to video along with all those horror movies starring rappers.

It'd probably be a better area for Uwe Boll to win people over in. Theaters are high profile and he's not that good. But if he were to go straight to the DVD release... it'd still suck. But at least his movies would have that it-sucks-but-it's-on-DVD kind of rent and forget appeal.
