New Turok Preview

CVG has a great preview up (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=170072) of the new Turok game slated for February 2008.

Ah well, looks like we'll have to make do with this savage shoot-'em-up instead, which sees Turok and an elite squad of soldiers known as Whiskey Company pursuing his former mentor Roland Kane. Kane has gone rogue and assembled an army on another planet, but as Turok and his team approach, they're shot down by Kane and crash-land in a jungle swarming with dinos and enemy soldiers.

Although the Turok games have a reputation for being no-brainers, this one's a little bit different
The screenshots alone are worth checking out. Gorgeous!

It is worth noting that while the CVG article only lists this game as coming to the PS3, the developers page (http://propagandagames.go.com/games/) says Turok will be hitting 360 and PS3. Yay for everyone!

My wife actually told me that I have to buy this game after seeing the trailer. So now I know that any game with dinosaurs is a sure thing in my house, as long as it's a good game. :p

I was at Siggraph last week in San Diego and at the Disney Interactive booth they were running the same demo that they had shown at E3. I think it looks and plays great. Also the demo was played on 360 hardware. Will definitely be something to look forward to after the holidays!

Yeah saw that Siggraph 360 demo... IMHO very meh ;) I just can't get excited about Turok anymore.

Considering it's Turok, you're at least guaranteed to have dinosaurs.

edit: Post-post thought...why don't more games have dinosaurs? Dinosaurs are fucking awesome. Dragons are big lizards and they're all over the place, but they just aren't as cool.

Really? I thought it still seemed a lot like the old ones, kind of combined with the natural evolution that FPS games seem to have to go through to appear 'modern'. What I thought would be cool would be to have some really misty levels .. atmosphere, and a bit of retro feel at the same time. (I haven't seen that look in an FPS lately .. could be a lot of fun.)
