Warner Bros. has annouced a "Justice League of America" game for Xbox and PS2 due out in Fall of 2006 according to Superhero Hype! (http://www.superherohype.com/news.php?id=3255)

"The joy of the 'Justice League' as a game is the chance to be your favorite characters and to interact with the rest of the team in the rich fantasy world of the DC universe," said Paul Levitz, President & Publisher of DC Comics.

Now that's a man who obviously loves his comic books.

Yes, this will combine the suck of all bad superhero games into one morbidly bad superhero game.

I figure why get so cynical until we have some info at least? If the game was really done right, it could give the chance to play virtually any of your favorite DCU characters. That would be absolutely awesome.

I'm with you in keeping the faith Kef, I was mainly making fun of Corporate Joe there.

Man, if they make playing as Green Lantern even slightly cool, I will be all over this. I doubt they will though. What makes GL cool is that he can do whatever he wants with the color green. I am sure in the game he will just have some lame green blast powers or something.

Well, X-Men Legends worked. Let's see what happens.

I'll cross my fingers and hope for a DECENT game. As long as it's decent, I could definetly see some fun coming out of it just from the licensed characters.

Hmm, it seems the only problem is we are going to have to wait a year for. I hope its good though.

If they use the same writers and art directors as Justice League: Unlimited, I'd buy it.

The same art directors as Unlimited? I mean, the writing is top notch, but the art annoys me. I mean, Superman is wider than he is tall. I'd be happy if they got the voice talent.

Actually it'd be tough to use the same writers for the very reason that the writing in JLU is so good: episodes are done by actual comic writers. There are no "set" writers as far as I've seen, but there have been a lot of great comic writers (Warren Ellis, Gale Simone, etc.) who have done episodes.

Now if they got some of them to write the scripts for missions in the game... that would be pretty sweet.

I'd love to see the whole thing done by Ellis in more of Ellis' style. A drunken Superman and a porn addicted Flash. Awesome.

You know that won't happen. Heh.

Although, interestingly, Ellis is just about to start a 6-issue story arc on Justice League Classified. Might be worth checking out if your an Ellis fan. I know I will be. But generally, from what I've seen, when he plays with the core DCU heroes he plays nice. His JLU episode, for example, was very traditional and normal, although (of course) extremely well-written.

Can't think of a title name, but it was one that focused on the Atom shrinking down to go inside this weird alien creature that kept spawning creatures indefinitely. If that doesn't ring a bell let me know and I'll look up the title tonight.

My recommended reading to you: Alan Moore's proposal to DC for Twilight of the Superheroes (http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/6612/twilight.htm) . Moore's wrote this to sell his idea for a 12 issue miniseries to DC but he was turned down. I've heard it said (and I agree) that the proposal contains many of the seeds that would sprout into Watchmen. Even though it's just notes about a series that never was, there are a lot of fun details and the it makes an interesting read if you're a fan of Alan Moore.

Check it out.

I just bought and read the Watchmen TP and loved it. I will definately check that out.

Ahh! The background on the link hurts my eyes. Who would make such a shitty background for such a long document?

Hell, I really need to read Watchmen. I dunno what I've been waiting for. My only real excuse is that I just got into comics a few months ago.

That proposal sounds super-interesting. I shall read it.

The way it's going so far (and I really hope I'm saying the same thing a year from now when it's finished), Infinite Crisis is exactly what I'd want in a huge crossover.

I'll just hope Capcom is making this game.

Anyway, how many times has Ellis killed JLA analogs?

Three times, at least.

Voice talent, agreed.

The previous seasons of Jusice League (before the art change of "Unlimited") are all but unwatchable for me, specifically because of the art. It has the best art direction in a cartoon series I've seen since Batman TAS.

That's sort of his shtick. He writes about a group of makeshift heroes who end up working for or against a corrupt government. And there's always a sort of bittersweet ending. When he does it well, it's awesome, but it can get old (much as I love the guy).

But the shoulders! They are so retardedly huge! Many of those characters, most notably The Flash, should be fairly wirery, but they are all HUGE. Seriously. Supes is wider in his shoulders then he is tall.

Okay, I'll agree that most of the male characters have more muscles than they should. The Flash shouldn't be so muscular, and neither should Green Lantern. However, no character is ever wider in the shoulders than they are tall, so quit exaggerating. I'm trying to have a serious conversation about the shoulder widths of fictional characters here, dammit!

Fall 2006?- Why is this not an Xbox 360/PS3 title?
