Tim Schafer, President and CEO of Double Fine Productions (http://www.doublefine.com/) and creator of such classic series as Grim Fandago and Monkey Island, will be giving the keynote address at this years GC Developers Conference.

The GC Developers Conference is a developers conference located in Europe, and beginning this year on August 20th.

His keynote will be dedicated to the challenges and methods of interjecting creativity into modern game design.

I sure do love some Tim Schafer. I'm curious to see what he's working on next, Psychonauts is still a very under appreciated game.

I think this is the first keynote I'll be actively looking for a video of afterward.

Fantastic news. I can't hear too many keynotes from industry leaders like Schafer.

On a sad note.. I still haven't had a chance to finish psychonauts yet!

I know that it is outside their download limits, but I think that Psychonauts would make an insanely good XBLA title. I know that the Xbox title works, but I'd like it converted to HD graphics.

The news section of the double fine website is Schafer's personal blog, and it is fucking amazing (http://www.doublefine.com/news.htm)

My pupils dilated one millimeter. I slowed my heart rate down to one beat per minute. I voided my bowels as a precaution.

"Birdie," I said, "Now you're messing with a son of a bitch!"

And before it could even draw its tiny gun, I slammed that hateful clot of feathers into that cake plate so hard, its dead relatives, cold in their graves, tasted frosting.

Psychonauts is a backward compatible game and it looks pretty good on the 360. That game actually made me laugh out loud.

Psychonauts, underapreciated? Absolutely not; critics and fans have raved about it. It is very much apreciated.

It just sucks that it never sold very well.

I beat it on my PC, and was able to play it maxxed out at 1920x1200...it's an absolutely gorgeous game...hooking up a 360 controller to the PC and it's perfect...except it's only at 24" vs 60" I could have on the 360. So it comes down to, would I rather have the crispest graphics or a larger view. I tend to go towards crisp...

And maybe it's just that I'm reading the Harry Potter series for the first time, but thinking of psychonauts reminds me of Harry Potter...if they could do a HP game like that, it would be friggin' sweet.

I'm so split on Psychonauts. The demo did nothing for me, but his 'blog' is damn funny, and it's only $20 on Steam now...

Bound to be a good keynote, let's hope it turns up somewhere.

I wasn't going to come in here and say what I always say about Psychonauts, but then I skimmed and saw what claws said. Yes, it's fuckin worth it. My favorite platformer since Mario 64, a game with enough creative vision that it's hard to imagine each level really being so unique. It's a brilliant game, play it, buy it, love it.
