Please, for all that is holy, please do not make it so that I'm without Evil Avatar for as long again. It felt like the great crash of February 2005, and we ALL know how much that sucked. Still, major kudos to Evil for getting us to where we are right now.
Are there still teething problems? Yes, there are, but patience is absolutely a virtue.
Without further ado, then, let's move on to the past week's news.
First up is Sony and news that the much-anticipated (by me, at least) Little Big Planet will feature both enemies and bosses (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33339)!
Moving on to Microsoft, and it appears that Cheap Ass Gamer (http://www.cheapassgamer.com) (hello, CheapyD) is first to break price cut news - this time it's a $50 drop on the Xbox 360 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33345). Sticking with Microsoft and price cuts, a price cut on the HD-DVD add-on was also announced (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33345), bringing the price down from $199 to $179, this time with five free HD-DVDs.
From the "you've got to be fucking kidding me" category, EA's CEO John Riccitiello commented (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33372) that the release of All-Pro Football 2K8 for Xbox 360 (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/allprofootball2k8) and PS3 (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/allprofootball2k8) needed to be but a blip on the sporting calendar. If only Electronic Arts spent their time and energy on something more constructive...
The saddest news of the week was undoubtedly the passing of Raven Software's Glen Angus (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33357). R.I.P., Glen, and on behalf of Evil Avatar, our deepest condolences to the Angus family.
A sad way to end this week's roundup, but if nothing else, it helps underline the simple fact that there are much more important things in life than games or petty platform-specific squabbles.
