Wired magazine has put up a great interview (http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/07/e3-interview--1.html) with Microsoft Game Studios head honcho, Shane Kim.
I still am a believer in our ability to do well in Japan. We're not going to win in Japan. We know that. That was never our goal, this generation, to win in Japan. We can win this generation without winning Japan. But we can do well in Japan. Now that's going to take a long time.
Great read!

I still find it a bit strange that Japan content (Blue Dragon especially) is brought to the world a little faster. These games make most of their money in the West.
I'm still looking forward to both BD and LO, but seeing as the European disk for BD doesn't have Japanese voices, I'm irritated as hell. I don't want a Disney game. I want an anime game!

To summarize:
Wired News: So, what are you going to do about the Wii?
Shane Kim: We are going to make as much money as we can from Halo 3, and then we will announce a price cut.
WN: Wouldn't this be a great time, then, to announce an Xbox 360 price cut? Why no price cut at E3?
SK: We are going to make as much money as we can from Halo 3, and then we will announce a price cut.
WN: In certain territories, Microsoft is heading towards probably a shared market leadership with Nintendo, hitting different groups. But in Japan, Xbox 360 has had the same problems, it hasn't even sold as much as the original Xbox at this point. Tell me more about the strategy going forward.
SK: Last I checked, Japan is a smaller market than North America or Europe, and it doesn't care about Halo 3. We're going to focus on North America and Europe, and make as much money as we can on Halo 3 before announcing a price cut.
