The Brothers in Arms series from Gearbox Software reinvigorated a stale WWII genre last generation. The latest game in the series will be a next-gen debut, and it won't dissapoint.

Here are 10 things you may or may not know about Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway for the PS3, PC and Xbox 360.

10. The game is being overseen by Colonel John Antal for Authenticity. He is also writing a novel covering the real life story of the game.
9. The team took thousands of reference photos from the actual locations featured in the game for reference material.
8. Characters are richly detailed and show emotion in the heat of battle.
7. BiA: HH uses a destroyable cover system. It's possible to break down fences, carts, signs, and even sandbag walls to kill the enemy.
6. The game will feature a new tactics system in which you can patrol, plan and execute your attack. Ambush, Flank, Assault, Snipe and Destroy are all tactical options.
5. New unit types including machine gun and bazooka are available to create mixed fire teams.
4. If you've seen the trailers for the game...the graphics look THAT GOOD. That screen to the right? That's realtime and happens when you jump over obstacles.
3. Pieces of buildings are destructible.
2. I've never seen a developer as enthusiastic about his title as I saw Randy Pitchford was during the Ubisoft Press Conference. This guy really wants to make a good game, and really wants to play a good game.
1. The game will feature an action camera which shows off big explosions and great kills when you accomplish them. These are determined by the game and aren't pre scripted.

Looks like i'll have to go buy a WW2 shooter. Not that i want to, but this game is more or less forcing me to do it. :P

This game looks really really great. Looking forward to it more than any other FPS.

I like the stuff the GearBox guys make, I remember when they first started on Half Life Expansions... It was pretty fun stuff.

This game will be great, the haters have nothing on it.

Only thing that bugs me is the character models have a little uncanny valley going on...

More WWII? Well, looks more interesting than Airborne and probably won't suck nearly as hard as Hour of Victory. Still, probably not a purchase considering all the other software coming out around that time.

Is it gonna hit this Christmas, too? God damn it.

Aw, who am I kidding. I'm barely gonna be able to have time to play half of the games I want to buy for this Christmas.

I must admit I was not a very big fan of the BiA game(s), but this one could change my mind.

Airborne is going to be a million times better and thats a fact. But Hour of Victory is just horrible, so not much to say there.

Yeah, I've never been a big fan of the BiA games either. I like Gearbox, I loved Opposing Force, but the BiA games never did it for me. Not to mention I've been sick of WW2 games for at least 3 years now.

That said, the game itself does look good, so I'll maybe check it out when it's budget priced. There's too much coming out when this launched to justify full price, for me.

"9. The team took thousands of reference photos from the actual locations featured in the game for reference material."

Just like the others BiA, more of the same.

"6. The game will feature a new tactics system in which you can patrol, plan and execute your attack. Ambush, Flank, Assault, Snipe and Destroy are all tactical options."

Again ? More of the same...

I saw the trailers, the cover thing, it's just like Gear of Wars, now you see your characters in a third person view... so... more of the same :)

Ok, I will grab this game... but a lot of more of the same.

Man, I played the first BiA loved it. Tried Earned in Blood. I feel like it was a expansion, it was the same thing, same. same. same.

Pah
It'll just be another run and gun 4 guys vs the entire german army bullshit again. In a tiny little corridor shooter like the other brothers in arms games.

Hopefully Gearbox can finish this up soon and get to work on that Aliens game.

Yeah, Bring on Aliens. This looks great, but WW2 is a surefire no buy from me on theme alone. I don't care anymore. Why not bring this whole thing into a different context with a little more imagination. It's like watching 465 episodes of Band of Brothers. Cool to start with but enough is enough.

Ballistic.

Pah, run and gun doesn't work with this game as you can't hit the broad side of a barn if you move.

Maps are said to be twice the size (at least) of the original games, and they were hardly corridor shooters.
