I am playing a game from the long, long ago. I found a SNES emulator and the Final Fantasy III/VI rom and have been plodding through. I swear, this time I am really going to finish. Even though I still have the SNES and FF3 sitting in the basement, it is really nice to be able to save and load anywhere/any time, and the fast forward option helps skip through redundant animations. Probably be able to finish or at least get pretty close this weekend, as I am in the World of Ruin.

Yeah, I swore I'd finish it off myself back in January. It's a yearly tradition with me. Every year I make it farther (I start from scratch), but I've never actually beaten that damn game. It's just too long and I end up loosing interest.

That's funny, I just recently did the same thing. Now I'm on Final Fantasy 7, working my way through the series.

I work Saturdays and Sundays (I get Tues and Wen off), so my weekend hasn't started yet. When it does, though, I'm going to be putting time into Baldur's Gate 2, as I work to beat it for the upteenth time (though with a new mod installed). I'm also hoping to get in time with Guildwars.

Divine Divinity. I really like it so far. Good balance between simplicity and 'hardcore' RPG. Good for me because I'm not after anything too heavy at the moment.

Playing Riviera for the GBA. Pretty cool RPG; it's kind of a mix of a point and click adventure with a Japanese RPG with some QTE's thrown in. I wasn't sure if I would like it but I am hooked.

hey guys....been having a blast playing the bards tale for pc. very Monty Pythonish...game is funny as hell. Very well done...excellent character models and great storyline.
Working my way through Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Huge fan of this game (just picked it up a few days ago) and can't wait to have some more time with it. When I'm not bagging bounties, I'll probably end up spending some time with WoW.

Odd World: Stranger's Wraith is great and it gets even better the further you play. The end has battle sequences that rival anything in Halo in terms of intensity and epic-ness. But the storyline and the political thematics that underlie it are the real stars. I will really miss not having Oddworld Inhabitants in game form anymore.

Awesome game. It's comparisons to Diablo are unwarranted, apart from the 1st dungeon. After that it's more like Ultima. I loved it, though Beyond Divinity wasnt as good. Decent and entertaining, but a seemingly larger focus on fighting.
I'm going to be playing more MVP 2005, GTA: SA for PC and maybe trying out Phantom Dust and Atelier Iris. Atelier Iris seems like a very decent RPG...hell, i love my PS2. Its really the only console still spitting out RPG games each month. The other 2 are seriously RPG-retarded.

Since I am stuck at work on and off this weekend I am playing catch up on movies while my family is away enjoying the holiday. Already caught Land of the Dead, Mr. & Mrs. Smith at the theater and moving on to Saw with Cursed and Season 1 of the David Chapelle Show in the que. If I get through all of that GTA:SA and BF2 await me.
Oh and I need a beer! :)

On another note: I'm playing ICO this weekend. Pick it up if you haven't! Well worth the $20.

Hey congratulations Bap. I'll be picking that game up in a month myself.
No spoilers, only hints please.
At the moment I'm going through Advance Wars DS, it seems to be a very different beast to the GBA titles and takes a bit to get used to juggling two COs effectively but so far it's a pretty damn fine game.

Having been banned (temp) from WoW for poor sportsmanship, I've tried out Guild Wars and Battlefield 2.
Guild Wars still strikes me as a poor man's WoW. Battlefield 2 is a great looking and largely great playing game that has the absolute worst UI programming of all time. Oh and the manual is sheer uselessness. Interestingly enough, the BF2 DVD box is HUGE and could easily hold a nice manual - oh well, at least they passed the savings on to me, since it was $49.95 at EBX.

Believe it or not, the post about it being patched (a little while back) got me to fire up an oldie but a goodie on the LAN and I've been playing with my sister all the time...

Then I squeeze in some GuildWars and BF2(demo) in.

A late congrats to you bap! Marriage is probably the best game I have ever played: emotion, drama, entertainment, and most importantly, sex! Well, at least at first. ;)
I'll be zoned into Tales of Symphonia between all the events I am being forced to attend this weekend. Maybe a tad bit of Destroy All Humans if I get burned on ToS, but I highly doubt that.

I was away most of the weekend, visiting family, but I was able to spend some time on some awesome games.
Fire Emblem for the GBA. Awesome turn-based strategy. I finally found a copy this week and started playing on Friday. Heck, I liked it so much I ran out and bought FE: The Sacred Stones so I can play more FE once I finish this one.
Destroy All Humans (Xbox): Fun game so far. It was odd when I went to buy it though. Every game store employee I asked about it said the same thing. "It's a great game but..." with the "but..." being that it got a little repetitive or episodic. I'm loving it though. Episodic games are fine by me!
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana (PS2): Holy crap, this is an awesome RPG. Granted, I love 2D graphics, especially when they've been tweaked to take advantage of what the current hardware can do, effect-wise. I've put about 4-5 hours into this so far and am loving it. It's like playing a normal RPG version of the various Nippon Ichi strategy games. Lots of humour, fun combat and a deep item creation system. If you like old school RPG's or liked the Disgaea/La Pucelle/Phantom Brave games, you'll love this one.

*Goes to take the shrinkwrap off his Atelier Iris game.
I've only mostly good things about the game. I havent tried it out yet, but it's already looking to be the best PS2 RPG released this year...thus far, anyway. XenoSaga 2, Suikoden 4, Arc the Lad: EoD....those games are all big sequels that just dont fulfill the way they were supposed to. I've been looking for a game to jump into, and though I have already started Phantom Dust, i might set it aside to jump directly into Atelier.

I agree with Kelegacy. I have been rather underwhelmed with most of the big RPG sequels that I've picked up this year. Xenosaga 2 is probably the most disappointing and that's not even coming at it from a convoluted storyline angle. I just find it running incredibly slow on my PS2. The battles take forever to load up and are nowhere near as fun as the original Xenosaga battles.
That's probably why I've been going through my back catalogue of Nippon Ichi TBRPG games and even busting out the ol' Chrono Trigger for the PS1. I wish they'd do a port of CT for the GBA. I don't need Secret of Mana. I need a portable Chrono Trigger!
