Nanostray 2 Details (DS)

We've just received some information about the upcoming arcade shooter, Nanostray 2 for the Nintendo DS. The title's Project Manager, Manfred Linzner, tells us that the game will boast a full adventure mode, complete with cutscenes and voice-overs, online leaderboards that are accessible via WiFi, and a completely new control option that allows playing the game entirely with the touch-screen.

- N2 can be played fully with the stylus (optional). This gives a complete new feeling to an arcade like game as N2. This control is much more accessible for players that never played arcade like games before. Even for skilled oldschool players it gives a complete new view to the genre.

The Adventure Mode includes a big number of cutscenes and voice acting of never experienced before high quality on the DS system. Of course any cutscenes can be skipped easily while playing. I asked the same thing, and was told that the release date will be announced soon. I suspect we'll hear more at E3.

Video starts off normal, but towards the end there is some impressive stuff. Like that hi-poly xmas ornament looking thing. That was pretty smooth for the DS.
And the backgrounds feature some pretty high level detail in some of the horizontal levels.
This is impressive. I am going to have to pick it up.

The original was a great little shooter for the DS. I'm definitely gonna pick this one up! Now just when?

Edit: Checked the site some more, and there is a 2 player mode listed. I'm always wary of "2 player" on DS games, like FF3. So I'll wait to be excited until more info comes out.

"what's Nanostray?" I bet a lot of people are asking. Shame it wasn't better known. Good game, but a bit short. I hope they get rid of all the coin sucking shit and focus on blowing every goddamn thing to cross your path.
