While it was revealed a few weeks ago, SEGA today official announced that it will be publishing the eagerly anticipated Rome: Total War expansion.

In Barbarian Invasion you can now control vast armies and over 100 new units as they battle across an updated European map that now reflects the historical changes since Rome: Total War. Tear Rome apart by leading hordes of barbarians or stand and defend the Empire as a leader of one of the two former Romes, the Western and Eastern Empires.Read more Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion details and the first screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26456) over at WorthPlaying.

Sega? Activision published the original, at least here in the UK. Is it common for a different publisher to publish an expansion? I've never noticed it before.

I was pissed when I heard Sega bought CA, because I thought it would mean they would turn away from their RTS past to do more console stuff. Glad to see this is not the case. Can't wait for the expansion. And I especially can't wait to see what they do next.
