Now that I got the awful pun out of the way, NASCAR driver Greg Biffle is going to run a Nintendo Wii paint scheme at Watkins Glen and the fall Dover race.

Here's the paintscheme:

And here's a link (http://www.thesundayhauler.com/store/greg_biffle_wii2007.html) to order the diecast.

Someone should tell Nintendo that EA isn't making a Wii NASCAR game just yet...

That was a TERRIBLE pun, but I guess that having more than 300 posts means that you can get away with it. This is only my 8th, so I won't comment on it anymore.

I actually like that paint scheme. It looks nice and clean. Don't know if people will fall for the advertising, but still.

EDIT: OP, you misspelled "die cast"

So the dick joke beat out "Greg Biffle to shill for Nintendo"?

The design looks okay. Maybe it should resemble the Wii logo a little more.

Wow, I didnt think making your car look totally gay was a cool thing to do in Nascar. Coming next, Jeff Gordan in the Hot Pink Barbi car....

EDIT: Just so that I equally offend, I still think nascar is a retarded sport. Turn left, turn left, turn left, turn left....

Well, Jeff Gordon's pit crew back in the day were called the rainbow warriors. And the earlier color schemes... Well, yeah...

And evidently you've never heard of Watkins Glen.

Edit; Not to say it isn't boring, but not all tracks have just left turns :)

Still, it would be a much cooler sport if it had tracks that looked like a Hot Wheels playset. Some jumps, maybe a loop-d-loop.....

As did I.

Remarkable how the same news for different companies is presented with such a different tone from one another. Heck, the post even seems proud to display the Wii car on the front page too. (Does that mean EA are shilling for Nintendo and NASCAR now?)

I expect justification on this (as if anyone cares to present some argument about impartiality) to based around "...with attitude". :p

EDIT: I just noticed that the [negative] Sony news story equivalent (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31871) was posted by exactly the same person too! How's that for investigative reporting? :D

The difference being is that his car is being sponsored by Nintendo. Its not like he's going on TV commercials saying how great the Wii is like Gordon will be doing for Sony's electronics. You guys are comparing apples to oranges.

Oh! So you're saying that the original negative Sony article wasn't even game related?

Hahah.

The way people attempt to justify this shit is hilarious. :D

I don't remember anyone saying the original sony article was game related at all. Who's justifying? How having a race car sponsorship where there's just a mention of said company/product on a car that ALL RACE CARS HAVE the same as hawking a companies products in commericials is beyond me. Its not even remotely the same.

There is a difference between a personal endorsement contract and driving a car with the word Wii on it. Just to let you know.

Some of you need to stop throwing around the fucking word shill in every god damn thread. It isn't the worst fucking thing in the world. Sponsors pay money to advertise their product. You might not like NASCAR but millions of other people do and they will see this car.

[...] You might not like NASCAR but millions of other people do and they will see this car.But isn't that the problem? Gamers that are championing HiDef, 5.1, Online, etc... DO NOT want Wii to gain anymore ground then it already has. And, of course, Nintendo fans don't want PS3 to reclaim any ground they've already taken.

This bickering isn't about weather or not Hi-def is better then Low-def, its about ego bragging rights. The ever proverbial, "My system is more popular then yours!"

And advertising to the quote unquote "red necks" who watch NASCAR would just further increase Wii's market share or PS3's for that matter. And, hence, increase fan bragging rights. But gains by Nintendo are especially bad for PS3 and even 360 fans, since we ALL know that Nintendo is anti Hi-def, anti 5.1, and anti Online.

You've got me though as to why NASCAR advertising is any "worse" then TV or magazine advertisements.

Just as much of a sport as lard ass douchebags hitting a ball with a stick and running around bases or elitist pricks whacking a ball around a cow pasture.
