"content-wise, I can be very confident in saying there has never been anything on a handheld like this."

Am I the only one who isn't really excited about this? I played GTA3 on PC and then again when the double pack came out for Xbox I honestly don't have any desire to play it again on PSP. The game was good but I'm so over it.

I saw a few screen shots that looked just like GTA3 but now I see it's a new storyline set in Liberty City from GTA3. Well, if they end up just reusing the same game environment from GTA3 then I'm still not interested.

I think it is time for Grand Theft Auto 4. I've really had enough of the same engine and play mechanics set in different cities. I played completely through GTA3, about 70% of the way through Vice City and about 40% of the way through San Andreas. Diminishing returns indeed. Time for something new.

Another person does not understand the title meanings of Gta3:vc\sa. Each new version of gta brings new ideas to the game where each expansion is just that an expansion on the gameplay.

I still don't know how the world will like portable GTA. Imagine kids or grandma on the bus next to some guy who is beating the crap outta hookers, on that nice bright screen.
In your home is one thing, takin it to the street is another.
The interview says this about the streaming data:
"The process of laying the data and code paths out to facilitate elegant streaming automatically ensures we are as battery-friendly as possible,"
Basically what this is saying is that data is only loaded when it is needed. Of course this could still mean that A LOT of data NEEDS to be loaded but they're doing it as efficiently as possible. A normal non-streaming game would just load less data (smaller maps) all at once and then not load for a while. Even if streaming the data is more efficient than this approach, we're still talking about constant data loading which means that the UMD will constantly be spinning.
I think PSP developers need to realize that this is a portable system and things like battery life and loading times are very important. If you have to make a level smaller, have a few fewer textures, or you have your ingame models be less varied for the sake of faster loading times, it's worth it.

thats true. Its better to use less battery also, because I dont wanna pop this game in my fully charged PSP, then when the first opening movie is done, the battery just gives out.To RS: DONT TRY TO RECREATE GTA3 ON THIS LITTLE SYSTEM! Its okay, if its 2 island, and not that big. I doubt there will GTA PSP Stunt vids anyway. >__>

I'd rather see unique new titles that take special advantage of the portability factor instead of PS2 games shoe-horned onto the system.
I've always despised the GTA games. But maybe this will draw more people towards the PSP, which can then mean that I will see more games that I like on PSP.
