GWN reports (http://www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id/13338/Puzzle_Quest_XBLA_Features_Revealed.html), "Xbox 360 specific features are shaping up nicely and should make for the best Puzzle Quest game yet!

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa55/goodavatar/PuzzleQuestIconSmall.jpghttp://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa55/goodavatar/XboxLiveSmall.jpgIn addition to the features list below, we were also offered a preview version, and given a list of bugs yet to be fixed in the game. I'm happy to report that the bug list was relatively small, so we can expect the release of the game to be in the near future. The feature list is too big to put here so go to the GWN page (http://www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id/13338/Puzzle_Quest_XBLA_Features_Revealed.html).

Highlights include: Online multiplayer & matchmaking service over Xbox LIVE Arcade Specifically build up multiplayer-focused heroes without participating in the story Local Multiplayer (2 players – 1 console)

Nasty pop ups on that site be warned!

The game looks fun and I haven't played something like this since Puzzle Fighter in the arcades.

Sounds pretty sweet. Now all we need is a date.

For me the big appeal of the game is the portability, so the DS version wins out easily. Cool for anybody that has missed out on this gem so far (bwahaha pun).

To be honest, even with the glitch of the party member's abilities not working, the PSP version SMOKED the DS version, if you ask me.

Lord Bane is damn near impossible.

I can see this getting HUGE on Live Arcade. It's just fun all around, no matter what platform you play it on.

I've been waiting on purchasing the game until it hit XBLA, mainly because I wanted the online play. So I'm happy to see my waiting has paid off and I will be able to be crushed by all my EvAv homies online.

The trick is to cheat like crazy. Well, use combos that don't LET him have a turn. Theres a few combos, the main one I know of is with a knight. You stack on items that give you extra mana, and keep doing the "Damage enemy and take a free turn" spell. Basically do the spell, take a turn, do the spell, repeat ad nauseum.

Been playing the DS version... good stuff.. can't really see myself playing this without a mouse/styles. Then again maybe the multiplayer will pull me in ;) Certainly not a bad XBLA release.

Trust me, I've tried that method, and still gotten nowhere. He seems to resist 75% of the spells I've thrown at him, if not more.

I keep trying for about a week, taking three weeks off, then trying again for a week, and repeating. It pisses me off, because the game was so satisfyingly difficult up to that point, and then it just gets impossible. Boo that.

P.S. - In a totally unrelated topic, if any of you have Myspace, add Bob's Big Boy. (http://www.myspace.com/unofficialbobsbigboy) If you've ever eaten at one, you know what's up. ;)

What's a pop up? Is that a left over from back in the day when people still used crappy browsers?

Bring that shit, kid. I'll own you.

And I even spelled it without using that stupid hacker-speak. ;)

I thought this was released on Xbox Live Arcade already.

Having killed the DS version, I find that I can puzzle quest no longer. :(

I will never play Puzzle Quest again! I binged so hard on the DS version, did every quest, got every companion, seiged every city. I had puzzle quest dreams for about two weeks in a row.

I wasted Lord Bane first time as a Level 48 wizard with some sweet hand crafted items.

What about a PC release?

Abnout a week ago, I somehow stumbled upon a PC demo for this game, although it wasn't planned to be released on the PC (DS & PSP only). Then I found out it was coming to XBLA and all then these previews starting popping up. Crazy coincedence.

Definately a fun game and the added rpg elements gives this alot of replayability. Unless it comes out at some outrageous price, I'll be purchasing it as soon as it hits XBLA.

I second this though. I am really waiting for a PC release.

<sigh> It figures that this story breaks a mere half-day after ordering a DS Lite just for this game.

Pity that many of the rpg elements are shit.

Definitely not picking this up. I've played the DS version to death, and it's gotten pretty worn out. If the multiplayer on XBLA is anything like the one on the DS, that's another big pass too.

yeah, I don't see much reason to get this again for those of us who already have it on PSP or DS.

The game has some limitations/negatives that while acceptable in a handheld aren't acceptible from a console game, IMHO. Yeah, my view is warped in that way, which explains why I think Carcassonne and Catan are the only things on Live Arcade that are worth paying for.

This game looks pretty cool! Nice twist on the whole match game. Looking forward to this, especially since I don't own a handheld.

I stopped playing the DS version because of this. although I should finish it up and play again on XBL with a new class.

then theres always MP which is the main attraction for me anyhow

I love the DS version, but will totally buy it again on XBL. Wish it had come out there first (since it's a patchable platform) before they did the portables; would have probably ended up with less buggy code for the DS and PSP.

I don't know what's wrong with you guys. I can't get me enough Puzzle Quest. :-)

Hopefully MS will do some proper QA for the XBLA release. The DS Puzzle Quest is the only DS game I've ever had freeze, and it does it regularly.

I agree, I tried this out on the DS and though it was was great. I then bought the PSP version because it was cheaper than the DS version and I play my PSP more. I have to say I really enjoyed this game, it was great fun. I will buy it on the XBLA as long as it doesnt exceed 1200 points, but I'm hoping for 800.
