Majesco today announced a unique looking action title for the Wii coming this fall. Blast Works: Build, Fuse & Destroy looks like a side scrolling version of the original Star Fox title for SNES, but with a modern day flair. http://www.evilavatar.com/images/previews/blastworks/thumb.blast5.jpg (http://www.evilavatar.com/images/previews/image.php?image=www.evilavatar.com/images/previews/blastworks/blast5.jpg)Across more than 15 different land, air and sea missions, the goal of Blast Works is to destroy enemy ships while continually growing your own into a massive craft by absorbing their fragments. The larger a "fused ship" is, the easier it is to protect from the growing onslaught of enemy firepower. Players can also upgrade their ship in the Hangar by customizing weapons, propulsion systems and armor. Creative types will further enjoy building a ship from scratch with the Ship Editor and then testing it out in combat on a custom level they've built with the Level Editor. To defend the Hangar, players must use the Wii Remote(TM) like an anti-aircraft turret to shoot down enemies attacking from all angles. Finally, the game's 2-player cooperative mode lets players work together to blast enemies, fuse debris to grow their ships and finish the mission as a team.
Looks like this game could be a...blast!

Its Tumiki Fighters (http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/tf_e.html)!
Seems a little more fully realized, but it is very obvious.

Yes! I immediately recognized it when I saw the screen. I used to play that game all the time on my old pc.

This doesn't look like it's big enough for a full disc release. Any idea if it's part of the upcoming Wiiware library?

Can we get a smiley playing a rim-shot for moments like this? I've been needing it pretty often around here recently.

It has to be, because while Tumiki Fighters is a good game, it is nothing that should be charged anywhere near full price for. Even with whatever additions they are making it cannot possibly be worth more than a few bucks, $10 at the most.

The Wii sure does have shitty graphics. It can't even do textures.

Looks cool, I'd pick it up (if I had a Wii, but I will grab it once I do).

That had better be a download, becuase it looks like a PSP game.
Yea, this is most likely a WiiWare game, sounds fun though :) looking forward to seeing what the developers can make of minigames for the wii.

I can't see them charging full price for this game. The disc would probably be $19.99 or less, with an emphasis on less.

Well, Cooking Mama and Big Brain Academy for the Wii are both $50, so I wouldn't rule anything out.

Well after scrolling down the page a bit (curse you Evil Avatar and your interesting news posts!!!) It loos like this will be a Wiiware game, or at least it should be, so you were pretty close with your PSP comment.

Ahh, ok, that's a good thing then. I'm curious to see how they do with their pricing.

Arg! I'm trying to remember a game that I *thought* was by ABA but I can't seem to find it on their site. Basically you were a ship and you moved around the map with the mouse. Ships would appear in ever increasing numbers and fire beams at you. you could activate a deflection shield around your ship that would then bend these beams and you aimed them back at enemy ships to destroy them. Your ship had no weapons other than this shield. Anyone remember what it was?
