The Player's pack: Black Edition for Rainbow Six: Vegas, released just yesterday over Xbox Live, has now vanished from the marketplace according to Major Nelson (http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/06/26/tom-clancy-s-rainbow-six-vegas-player-s-pack-black-edition-in-game.aspx).
Edit: This has been pulled. I’ll let you know when it makes a return.

Edit: How about you tell us why it was pulled Nelson?

Dunno, but I'd like to think part of it is the uproar over the allegation that MS promised that free content on other consoles would also be free on the 360. And the PS3 version apparently has this content in-box.

A few things that have gone up on the Marketplace seem to have been pulled down again, although previously it seems to have been due to people having trouble downloading them. Have people already successfully downloaded this pack before it was taken down?

According to the comments on MajorNelson, some people have gotten it downloaded and already commented on the maps (and lack of any new modes).

Could this bring back Rainbow night. I like Shadowrun, no love it, but I'm starting to miss Rainbow.

I'd be kind of choked if I bought it, and then they take it off live. If not a lot of people downloaded it, it'd get pretty boring pretty fast not being able to find servers running it.

I bought it last night but fell asleep before I could try it.

This kind of crap shouldn't happen. They need to be more careful with this stupid "it's up...it's not...it's back...it's gone again" crap.

So does people who bought it get their points back or what?

It seems like the microsoft employees are just throwing stuff up, and then they get told by a superior that it wasn't supposed to go up anyway.

It was probably another glitch-fest. I stopped playing that game; too many features they didn't deliver on (split screen online) and too many game-breaking glitches (don't use incendiary grenades in terrorist hunt). Then people started saying the first update was breaking their systems. Now, I don't know if that's even possible, but if people are speculating that it's bricking their boxes (whoa) then it probably isn't the most stable piece of software. I really felt that, while the multiplayer was a lot of fun, Ubisoft had shoveled the product out the door without testing it sufficiently.

It's only ever made my console crash once, other than that i've never had a problem with it :)

Maybe it is related to a download issue - I downloaded it last night and when I went to play all my red map and the new black maps were not avialable??? I had 3 gigs of available space but I went to the dashboard and deleted a bunch of demos anyway and rebooted - then pop my maps were available. The new maps are great!!!! I just wish they added new guns.

I'm not suggesting system-crashing bugs are the norm for the game. I had numerous instances where a level would not load or I would be crashed out of the lobby when the host changed a map (not just me, everyone else in the lobby). Occasionally, the AI would stop trying halfway through a level and just stand there, during which time the cover system would not work. Incendiary grenades were known to kill terrorists before they spawned, which meant you would be unable to finish a co-op terrorist hunt. I was able to map my face into the game, sort of, but my hairline had receded to the top of my head, like almost everyone else who played. When playing split-screen co-op, even though both profiles had a name, only one would have the custom face and character/weapon presets. The other would have to use defaults, and it is unclear how the game decided which player this would be. The LSU level would occasionally fail to load, resulting in a crash. I don't believe this to be a problem with my Xbox, because it has been running for six months since and doesn't have a problem with other games. Not trying to rant at you, ArchVile, I've just felt for a long time that I wasted my money on an unfinished game.

there's rumors going around on the xbox and Ubi's forms that it wasn't supposed to be released until thursday, so they pulled it off and will put it back up then. i don't know how reliable that information is though.
