Xbox.IGN (http://www.xbox.ign.com/) has posted over thirteen new in-game movies (http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/698/698634/vids_1.html) from Madden NFL 06 for your viewing pleasure.

Tasty! This and regular football can't come soon enough for me.

WTF! They've added a new "feature" in which your QB needs to be looking at the receiver he throws to. Just what I fucking needed, another fucking button that I need to keep track of. So, I have to hike the ball, do my 5 step drop, look for an open receiver, point my qb at an open receiver, dodge oncoming defenders, re-point my qb at an open receiver, find the corresponding button for that receiver and press the button. Could you make it a little more complicated next season, that is way too easy.

It's all gone downhill since Madden 2003.

Hey, all you hear is bitching that sports games never change. Well, they decided to change it a bit ;)

Needless to say, as EA Sports owns the rights for foreseeable future, there is no alternative. I guess the only other option is to tell EA how you feel about that by not buying the game. If sales go down by a signifigant amount, perhaps they'll make changes for 2007. Perhaps the Lego Star Wars people will come out with a Lego Football game (no licensing necessary in that case as everything can be fictional).

It has man. And I found Sega's to be even worse. I just don't have the interest to devote the time it takes to become familiar with all the controls in a football game anymore, and I LOVE football. I usually just buy a hockey game each year now. It would be nice if there was an arcade option when your with a friend to dumb the game down to as simple as it was back in the day.

Looks smooth as silk, but nothing that wow's me. Plus it has all of the patented EA animation glitches. The passing looks like a pain in the ass, unless they have a way to automate it a bit.

Disable it then you whiny bitch.

Thank you. For some people this may work out very well, for others, it won't. For the ones that won't, simply disable it. Madden games have always been very good at customizing the game experience, so I don't know what you are bitching about at all, it's totally unfounded.

As far as the claim that Madden has gone downhill since 2003 - I disagree entirely. The defensive AI in Madden 2005 was such a huge turn around from years past and the constantly offensively-minded players finally found themselves at a loss to the more balanced grid iron warriors. This is just one faucet of the overall experience, albeit a large one.

I'm tired of Madden already and it's not even released yet.

/ESPN fanboy

p.s. the stupid flashlight comign from the QB's helmet looks dumb as hell, new feature or not.

Agreed.

Can't wait to see how far my Eagles have fallen.
Any predictions for this coming year?

I'm calling a Vikings vs. Colts Superbowl. Yes, 2 domed teams making it to the big dance.

Hmm...that could be a great Superbowl. I don't think the Steelers will look as good this year as they did last year. Miami might be an underdog too.
I just snagged excellent tickets to see the Vikings crush the Lions in December.

Hey, Hey, HEY! NONE of that! I'm a die-hard Eagles fan (Section 202, Baby!) and I will tolerate absolutely zero depressing talk at least until it's warranted! ;)

Madden has gone downhill since 03??? I completely disagree. The defensive AI has improved, franchise mode, etc. Its a great game, especially if you play in an online league. If there are features you do not like, disable them.

Now, if someone can make the Lions go all the way... I would be impressed with their skills.

Die-hard Eagles fan here too (bleeding green kind). Been to so many games over the last 10 years it's mind numbing. Just moved down to Orlando from Philly last year. (We were only 2 hours away from the Superbowl - yikes).

BUT, I have to say that our team is in for a major bust. (spoken like a true fan) They can't keep the momentum up for too long. And they've had it going their way for the last 5 years. Mind you, it's been the best 5 years for any Eagles fan (except for the crushing endings) but I just have this feeling that bad breaks are heading their way. Praying I'm wrong though.

I'm a Redskins fan 'til I die and even I think the Eagles will work out there problems and get back to the Superbowl. Haven't been following the Viks but I know they didn't deserve a playoff spot last year. If I'm such a 'skins fan why not call them? Joe Gibbs...love him like a father...but, he's let some really good people go. Right now I don't see what he sees. Maybe it'll become clearer in the pre-season.

August seems so far away.=(

You know what? Usually I hate other team's fans (it comes with the territory of being a Philly sports fan), but the Redskins' fans I usually get along with pretty well. They're hardcore fans and they're classy about it - they can go to a visiting stadium and have a good time (of course, if you come to the Linc prepare to be harassed quite a bit, perhaps even beaten up).

Ha - unlike the Giants or Cowboy fans. Sunday in Philly when one of those 2 teams visits is ALWAYS a joy! And we wonder how Philly got such a bad rap. It's always because of the other teams fans.

But I agree, not sure what Gibbs (who commands so much respect with all football fans) is doing with the Skins. Seems that perhaps the game might have passed him by.

Screw Madden and screw EA. Thanks to them I had to put in nearly 30 hours to update ESPN 2k5, which I will have to get 5 years at least out of because of their crappy game buying the souls of the NFL players and teams.
I am boycotting EA from now on and encourage everyone else to do the same. I will also glady share the roster updates I have made for all those who hate EA for the same reason and enjoy good games instead of popular games.
Oh and just when my lions were getting good.

Have fun. Fuck, I never bought a Madden since Madden 99 on N64, and I sure as hell am buying the new one. (But for the 360).

NFL 2k5 was good and all, but I am not an idiot.
