Next Generation online has an excellent preview (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6047&Itemid=2) of Free Radical's upcoming (soon-to-be) Playstation 3 exclusive title, Haze.

It’s certainly a good looking game, and the world gives you some spectacular panoramic views of your surroundings before you jump in and begin raising hell. Lush ferns and creeping moss surround a mud path in one sequence, just before a spectacular Mantel airstrike is launched on a distant rebel settlement: as you reach the ruins minutes later fires rage, bodies lie still across the scene and pale flakes of ash float past your visor.Great article. I'll be buying this on whatever platform gets it first and probably again when the deluxe edition hits the 360.

I love that preview title on their page...A new kind of shooter hhahahahahaha. It can't be a new kind of shooter if its a shooter. I will definiatly rent this as I love shooters. But come on, just release it as what it is and be done with it.

I'm interested, but Free Radical hasn't made an FPS that wasn't trapped in 1998 yet. TimeSplitters games had like... horrendous tangibility issues.

I loved the TimeSplitter games, which really has me looking forward to this game. I don't think it looks like anything amazing, but I'm sure it will be a really fun and solid shooter.

The 4 player co-op doesn't hurt!

Considering Ubisoft have made efforts to backtrack on any mentions of platforms other then PS3 (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=78000) can you substantiate your comments about "deluxe edition" or should I just assume this is another piece of pro-360 fiction being presented as absolute certainty by your impartial site?

Oh yeah, does any one know how long this will be "exclusive" to PS3?
From what I've seen, it comes out the following week for the 360, haha. That has to be the shortest exclusivity deal I've ever seen, if true. Did Sony throw the devs 50 bucks and call it a night?

If it doesn't come out on 360, I won't consider it as I'm not spending the dough to get a PS3 anytime soon.

That second thing.

I'm pretty much a Free-Radical fanboy, so I'll be buying this one when it comes out for the 360.

I think you're taking a partially tounge in cheek comment just a little to seriously there. And yeah, it'll come to the 360, sooner or later, probably with added content that's already available on the PS3 for download (like what's happened with R6 : Vegas and GRAW2 coming to the PS3 later).

The quote I saw said "Haze is leading on PS3, but no exclusivity for any platform has been officially announced,""

via Ubisoft, via gamespot, etc, etc

edit: from an interview in the Guardian (http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/games/archives/2007/05/29/haze_talk.html) at the end of last month

We will be doing 360 and PC versions but we are leading with PS3.Our past experiences (they developed TimeSplitters on PS2) as a company makes us favour PS3 first. Plus if you want to launch a new game and brand then the PS3 is a good place to do it. Obviously on 360 we would come up against the juggernaut that is Halo 3 and we don't want to stand in the way of that. There must be some nervousness in the Halo community though. Obviously it well sell very well but making a third game is tricky. There are people who liked the first game and not the second and vice versa. But both sets of players will want the third game to be for them.
