Gamers will be able to get their hands on Blizzard's upcoming real-time strategy sequel for the first time at sold-out fan event. GameSpot.com (http://gamespot.com) have the news. (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6172936.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;4)
The game will be featured in demo kiosks at BlizzCon, and attendees will get the chance to try out some of the sequel's new units and gameplay features in multiplayer matches. In addition to the chance to play Starcraft II, attendees will receive a sampling of other Blizzard-related schwag, such as an in-game Murloc suit for World of Warcraft, and a beta key for an upcoming--but unspecified--Blizzard Entertainment game.

I'd really like to go to something like this. Who do I have to kill to get a ticket?

This should be fun. I was at Blizzcon '05 and they had plenty of machines set up for people to play the BC content, the new Battlegrounds stuff, and Starcraft Ghost (cry). I'm sure they'll have a pretty sweet setup for lots of people to play around with SC2. Can't wait, I'm hoping to see some cool new Terran stuff.

I've always been vaguely interested in gamer conventions, but every time I think about spending a lot of money to travel across country for one of these things I just imagine this:
Fat chicks in Night Elf cosplay.
If the unspecified beta key is for anything but SC2 I would be pretty surprised.

Yeah conventions! They start out all geeky male and over the years they tend to balance out. Once you start seeing all the in game activities with real women, the conventions start losing their couch boy ownership.
I seen Anime cons go from mid 20 geekoverweight male as the average to 16yr old budding female as the target demographic. [how else can you explain all the Yaoi.]

Lucky bastards of BlizzCon. Demo of SC2, Murloc suit in WoW (cmon, that's just great lol), and free beta pass for SC2 unless they save it. Man I wish I didn't live on the exact opposite side of the country right now.

I got my ticket, and I also went to the previous year.
I have all my ex-GM buddies there. It's fun!
