After the German version (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26394) earlier today, Dreamcatcher has now released an English patch for Heuristic Park's action/RPG Dungeon Lords. This update brings your retail game to v1.3 and finally adds the eagerly anticipated auto-map function and incorporates gameplay tweaks and implements several bug fixes.
Get the Dungeon Lords v1.3 patch (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26403) (38mb) off WorthPlaying.
UPDATE: The Official Dungeon Lords Game Guide (http://gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords/walkthrough.php) is now free of charge, brought to you courtesy of DreamCatchers and UGO’s Game Banshee.

Did this game suck? I remember hearing tons of negative reviews. Anyone here try it?

The game by itself is cool, a decent looking action/rpg game, unfortunately marred by tons of bugs.
DL should have remained in development for another 3-4 months.
The patches are making the game more enjoyable, thats for sure, especially the current v1.3 with the map function (which was listed as a feature, but never made it in the retail game).

It's pretty harsh and probably will not be improved good enough to meet most peoples standards. It has good points and bad points, but it just doesn't seem fully fleshed out IMHO. It's state as released is, I would consider, early beta. Incomplete world, show stopping bugs, etc... If you are 'hard up' for an action RPG (as I am) I would suggest picking up the demo to see if it trips your trigger.
The skill system used is an excellent concept, but lots of things in it are still broken (haven't tried the new patch), and the story / NPC interaction is pretty laughable at this point.
I could go on and on, but just try the demo and see if it fits what you're looking for. Odds are that you wouldn't want to pay more than $9.99 for it...

The game had so much potential. I was wasted way too much time on a game that was just riddled with bugs.
Keep going, this isn't the RPG you are looking for.

Thanks for the replies, I will wait this one out. Maybe DS2 will satisfy my Diablo thirst.
Lets hope DS 2 comes out before I start pretending to play Hellgate London in my mind.
THAT's the psuedo diablo clone I absolutely cannot wait to play.

Oh yeah! I really want to get my hands on Hellgate: London. November 1st can't come soon enough.

Someone has to say it: "Is this the patch that makes the game fun?" - Thank you for your time.
Oh man, reading about that one, I continue to not want to wait. I'm actually as excited about it as I was about Half Life 2, and that's saying something.
Diablo 2 is one of the most addictive and satisfying games ever concieved, and if it turns out to be the same kind of addiction, I'll be giddy with explosive hallmark esque joy.
