I'll probably get the whole set so I can display them on a shelf.

I really wish I could afford this, Marvel HeroClix, and/or Warhammer 40k. They're just too expensive for my student budget though... oh well.

Enh. I sometimes wonder how Wizkids is still in business. Their games, for the most part, are pretty cheap and crappy. Both in terms of the rules and the models.

As far as tabletop wargaming goes, it's WARMACHINE and HORDES from Privateer Press all the way for me. Nothing comes close to Privateer's stuff. Not even 40k.

I used to go to those tabletop gaming places just to look at the figures. I was always impressed with the details. I always thought the Warhammer 40k were the coolest.

I never bought any because the prices were just too high. I'm hoping these new things stay affordable.

Re: Wizkids...

Their games are just fun. They're like very light strategy games with a bit of RPG in them if you get a player that actually likes doing crap like that. Used to play goofy themed-team Heroclix for hours on end with some friends.

Lately I have been playing Heroscape and its totally taken over from Wizkids. Probably the terrain that is included. I love that.

I was under the impression Haloclix were coming out in a box set - a la Hellboy Clix (not the Indyclix Hellboy - the BPRD boxset)..

Looks like I was wrong.

In experience of buying Heroclix - I end up with 5 of the same character a couple of times after half a dozen or so packs. I may buy a booster or 2 - but really, this would be marketed so much better (to the 7 million Halo fan, non clix players) as a stand alone set...

As odd as it may sound, this has oversize vehicles and everything. It is one of WizKids more ambitious projects.

If they spent as much time on their super-hero stuff, more people might play it.

Their first couple of mechwarrior sets were pretty cool. My friends and I had a great time playing. But I have nothing but distaste for the newer sets. All the Mechs and tanks look like something out of a bad anime.

The Halo clix will come in a starter set, a bigger set, and an even bigger set, along with boosters. Each booster contains a small map that you can connect(hopefully) to the other maps found in other boosters.
