I don't like press releases that give you no clue as to the genre of the game. This leads me to believe that the genre hasn't even been decided, so we'll see something totally whipped together.

I love the show, but how on earth can you translate this into a game? There can't be missions, because well, nothing ever really happens in Dunder Mifflin. Unless you just wander around the building eavesdropping on hilarious conversations. Or perhaps you play the part of the cameraman?

comedy options:
FPS with main character Agent Michael Scarn tracking down and slaying Toby
GTA clone where you deliver paper
"The Office" themed deck for windows solitaire

One of my favorite shows, but it has got to be one of the stupidest ideas for a game ever. Throw some money my way and I'll design a game that people might want to play.

Oh, you heard right. Bobble-head versions of your favorite Dunder Mifflin employees from NBC's The Office will be available for you to play in MumboJumbo's new video game coming out in the fall. The Office game will be accessible as an online download for your PC, PSP, or Nintendo DS. It will play similarly to how Diner Dash does, but would also feature audio and video content from the show.

Playing as Jim, you will have to interact with the other employees at the Scranton office and (I guess) do your job, though I've never really seen Jim do his job on the show. Of course, it's too bad you can only play as Jim. A Trivial Pursuit game based on Dwight's "FACT"s could have been the shit.

Just for those that might want another idea or something. From ******

Another fucking show that doesn't fucking translate into a fucking videogame.

See: Napoleon Dynamite.

There was a Napoleon Dynamite game? Crazy. Just to make that even wierder I'm going to assume it was a turn-based strategy game.

What other shows can we come up with that really wouldn't work as videogames?

Pimp My Ride has already been done, unfortunately (http://www.metacritic.com/search/process?sort=relevance&termType=all&ts=pimp+my+ride&ty=3&x=0&y=0).

Love the show. Doubt the game will be worth playing. But I suppose they'll make money off it from casual/non-gamers, simply due to the show's popularity.

I think someone could have made a passable minigames collection with the license, but bobbleheads...ehh.

Joystiq's headline for the story:
The Office video game sounds easy: "That's what she said."

You people have no imagination. Just because it's based on the show doesn't mean it actually has to have anything to do with the show! Like the Home Improvement game where Tim fought fire-breathing velociraptors.

i know they exist. i was being sarcastic. i hope that Hollywood doesnt flood the market with shitty games based on something that shouldnt be a game or even thought of as a game. i would just cry if this game sucked. not that im looking forward to it, but it would ruin my perspective on the show.
much how fight club became a game. im still searching for the part of me that died that dark and terrible day.
