Voodoo Extreme (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/629/629820p1.html?ui=rssFeed) has a handful of screens from NC Soft's upcoming MMO, Auto Assault.
Looking pretty good.
Hmmm... To me Auto Assault is quite far from looking good.
The cars lack details and the enviroment doesn't shine either.
(At least compared to GW).

Damn shame this a pay monthly MMO. Never have paid for monthly access for a game. Never will.

You're not going to have many games left to play in a couple years ;)

And you're going to be living in a cardboard box on the street from having to pay all those fees ;). Instead you'll be begging 'for just one hour' on someones electrical jack to charge your laptop, instead of food. :P

Man... those treads on the last screenshot are just painful to look at.
Thank god they probably aren't very visible in motion.
For some reason it reminds me of Interstate 76 -- too bad it probably won't anything near I76's charm.

In GW, you aren't barreling down the road at 100 mph, either. This game is designed to be ultra-fast paced, not a trot through the mud like GW.
I think they are going for a balance between graphics and gameplay, instead of thinking of graphics first, like a lot of games have been lately. If AA can run well on more than just high-end machines (given how much action is going on screen at any given time) then good for them.
There absolutely must be a sense of speed in AA, and if that is compromised by bad framerates and latency, then the entire gameplay and immersion is botched.

Do I spot an orc even in this game?

Yep, your ancient race is in the game, Kermy!

I'm in the beta for this game, and I have to say I'm very unimpressed with it so far. Bad Twisted Metal-like car gameplay + identical mmorpg system == pass for me. Maybe it gets better after 15 hours of investment, but I have a feeling it will not do so well.

I agree, first thing I thought when I saw those pictures were if the gameplay is great then the graphics would be just fine.

well, the graphics may not be great, but everything that isn't the grpund can be destroyed quite well.

I'll spell it out for you: He implied that in the future the vast majority of games will be pay (MMO was no implied by this statement, but one could safely assume this is the case), thus, the accumulated debt of subscribing to EVERY game you'd want to play would be too much to bear.
This is where it's humourous. At least chuckle worthy. Either way, it wasn't meant to be serious. Get that stick outta your ass.

So here's a question for you. Would you pay $20 a month to play Guild Wars? Or is the only reason it has done so well the fact that it's basically free after purchase?
For me, that was the main selling point. WoW made me feel guilty for not playing, so I didn't renew my subscription. I think that people are more willing to pay a one-off fee to play a game, rather than pay monthly, and if they are willing to pay monthly, will only have one or two subscriptions at a time. I have GW, BF2 and CS:S (to name a few) and I don't feel bad that i might not play one or another for a few weeks. Would you pay $20 a month to play Battlefield?

I'm already sorry I payed $50 for Battlefield 2, as it works right now before any patching. I'm willing to pay a monthly fee for this game though. Why? Because MMOs tend to actually get worked on and upgraded. I'm really tired of these games released lately that don't even fully work out of the box. At least a half decent MMO gets incentive(as in your money) to fix things. That, and AutoAssault looks like alot of action, getting tired of these battles where you stand there and watch your guy swing his weapon in one animation over and over.

Im glad youpeople don't like autoassault because that means more room for people who like good games to play it with me.
