Newport Beach, CA -- Jun 19, 2007 -- Crave Entertainment, a leading publisher of console videogames, and Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) announced today that they will team up to bring all the bone-crunching excitement and edge-of-your-seat suspense of professional bull riding to videogame consoles. The "Toughest Sport on Dirt" has become the fastest growing sport in America. The PBR holds hundreds of thrilling events throughout the United States and in Mexico, Canada, Brazil and Australia, many of which are broadcast on Versus, Fox Sports and NBC.

"The sport of bull riding has gained tremendous momentum over the past few years, attracting a huge international audience as well as heavy duty corporate sponsors," said Rob Dyer, President of Crave Entertainment. "We feel the skill and tenacity needed to stay on a bucking bull will translate perfectly to the videogame arena."

"We are extremely excited to announce our newest licensing partnership with Crave Entertainment," says Sean Gleason, CMO of PBR. "Crave has spent a lot of time getting to know the intricacies of the PBR brand and the sport of bull riding and they get it! We are looking forward to working with their creative team to translate the adrenaline rush and action inherent in our sport to the major console platforms. It's going to be a wild ride."

The game will be available on multiple gaming platforms, and is expected to ship in Fall 2008. The "Toughest Sport on Dirt", eh?

I like seeing all of the "weird" and niche sports/activities finally getting games! Even if you dont liek the games at least companies are willing to take risks to create something new.

There was already a bull riding game. It was called 'Extreme Rodeo'. Here is a review:

...fastest growing sport in America.
Bullshit. I hate it when people have to put out crap like this, which is essentially impossible to prove (and therefore, disprove).

I did a quick google on 'fastest growing sport' and got hits for lacrosse, bull riding, NASCAR, soccer, and "disc golf", all on the first page. And what the hell does that mean? If I consider staring at my penis to be a sport, and next year I get one more person to stare at it with me, ta-da! My sport has grown 100%.

just wait until Ultimate Frisbee is the fastest growing sport in America. Gonna take the videogame world by storm!

Edit: or better yet, how about a Curling videogame? Nothing says excitement like professional ice-brooming!

so... how the hell do you implement a bull-riding game?

Honestly, it seems a mechanic of balance that is poorly suited to most game control methods as riding tends to last about 10 seconds.

Although a Bullshit Riding game might be interesting. It's you against some of the best marketing departments in the world, as they try to sell you on their perspective of the product. Some people can even make it to 8 seconds without withdrawing from that sense of being kicked in the nuts.

Maybe you could have a bull riding season and off-season like Madden/any other EA sports game made. Then you could get signed by sponsers and drafted and train to up your skills. There could be a create a player feature and a store to buy western gear. All of this would be seperated by 10 second riding a bull minigames.

If by something, you mean sticking the Wii-mote up your ass and making sure it doesn't fall out while farting, I guess it could be something.

If your mom actually watches, and LIKES, PBR, she has no right in the world to bitch about you playing video games as if you were wasting your time.

If I was ever shit on for playing video games, I would have to stop playing video games.
