Nintendo Insider (http://www.nintendoinsider.com/) has posted a preview (http://nintendoinsider.com/site/EEkppkZyupnIUIlUTf.php) of Mario Party 7 including screenshots for your viewing pleasure.

Here's a bit about what the latest sequel of the game brings to the party...err table.

Some have complained about Nintendo’s milking of the Mario Party franchise, but sales figures show the strength of the franchise is strong, with over half a million copies of Mario Party 6 sold since last December. Mario Party 7 will be released this November (along with three other Mario titles during the season), and while some may tire of the franchise, the GameCube’s multiplayer audience will probably welcome the 80 new minigames and especially the 8-player capability with open arms.

The Mario Party games are fun but I've never ran out and bought them right away. And please excuse my humor from above, it's early and I've had no coffee yet.

80 new mini games every time?

How do they do it?

I'm not so much tired of the series as I always thought it was a bit crap.

The mini games are not always "new", they are often slightly different than games in previous iterations.

These games are fun, mostly because you can get non-gamers to play and enjoy them. They lend themselves to drinking games pretty well too, though I was doing that sort of thing a lot more often back in the Mario Party 1 days.

I think Mario Party 1-3 were on N64, 4-6 (now 7) have been on Gamecube.

Whenever my wife and I have guests, this is the only game that always works to break the ice between gamers and non-gamers. It also has sold a number of Gamecubes to people who wouldn't have ever purchased a console.

The rules change between every iteration, but lately it's been a little too balanced. I actually preferred the older style where the guy who won the whole game could end up losing in the last 5 lightning rounds. Kinda like a game of poker.

I liked the old N64 ones, the games were still pretty fresh back then. I think I rented Mario Party 6 for the cube and played a few rounds with some of my friends but we just couldn't take the over the top cuteness of the game. It somehow seemed forced to the point where it was painful to play it.

Loved the first one, but I havent touched one since.

I assume that these must sell well because nintendo continues to release them over and over and over and over... Of course, this is the same company that releases 9 versions of the same console.. and the same company that aims to change the way we look at gaming by adding a dvd player to their system and making us use some crazy ass controller.
