Microsoft has announced this week's title for Xbox Live Arcade. The game is the 3rd game from developer Ninja Bee (Outpost Kaloki X, Cloning Clyde) entitled Band of Bugs (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/b/bandofbugsxboxlivearcade/).
“Band of Bugs” is a fun, strategic diversion for fans of tactical gameplay, while the unique animations and environments in the game make it a fun, approachable title for newcomers as well. “Band of Bugs” is one of few turn-based tactical strategy games available on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Players will enjoy unlimited variety in their gameplay choices with the Xbox LIVE Arcade’s first ever free built-in level editor, which they can use to create custom maps and play with friends over Xbox LIVE.

Available worldwide, “Band of Bugs” can be downloaded for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E for Everyone.

Haven't heard much about this, but it looks like it could be very unique.

I will definitely demo this. I demo every Arcade title, but this sounds pretty interesting. And coming from the creators of Kaloki X and Cloning Clyde.. Should be entertaining, I hope.

Looks terribly cool, right up my alley. I have been on a TBS kick lately anyway, playing a lot of Disgaea and about to finally dig into Makai Kingdom. I'm looking forward to this.

I watched a video a while back. Fantasy turned based strategy, with bugs. Looked like fun.

I really want to add "Bunny" at the end of this title.

Nothing against this game, but where the fuck is my Carcassonne?

My thoughts exactly. Maybe it'll be next week's game since they've been saying it'll be out in June for a while now. This does look cool though. Ninja Bee seems to know what they're doing when it comes to XBLA.

any idea on how many points they are going to charge for this? Looks interesting enough for me. If it's cheap, I'll pick it up for sure

Worms is also a TBS.

Seeing as I didn't even complete Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom. And am currently storming through Disgaea 2 (supewrior to the two former titles in every way) I don't think I need this game. Idea is great (these kind of games on Live) but I don't like the theme.

Worms is turned based.

I wish they could make General Chaos for XBLA.

Worms is turn-based, but I wouldn't really call it strategy.

This looks interesting. I'll definately demo it. Stupid Arcade and all these neat titles...

Man, I was so hoping it'd be something like the Sierra/Dynamix classic Battle Bugs (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/battle-bugs/screenshots). That game was so much fun.

I still wish for a X-Com re-hash. Keep the SP game the same as classic, just add MP Skirmish and you've got an instant win.

God damn, I'm going to have to buy more points!

Kaloki X was a great strategy/sim game, and this looks great as well.
The great thing about live is it can use games like Catan, Outpost Kaloki and this to fill in holes in the 360's full price libary.
The real question is how am I going to find time for this.... I still do Catan, Prince of Persia is unbeaten, Pac-Man CE isn't getting the time it deserves and I play Shadowrun for three hours a night. And Overlord and Transformers are just around the corner. Gaaaaaaah!!!!
I've said it before - I play 4-5 hours a night, and I normally play each game to compleation before moving on. I'd always have one full game and one 'relaxing' arcade game - but I'm getting swamped.

I have the same problem.

But I HAVE to pick them up if I enjoy them after demoing them...and I enjoy most of 'em!

I'm in love with the Arcade. Oh man...it's awesome.

I'm sorry, but did you say level editor? On a console game?

It did... and it also says you can play those user-made levels with friends on live.

It's not unheard of. Farcry did it for the 360 (and to a very light degree Worms). Elebits on the Wii let users create levels and sent them to their friends as well.

Ah, I see. That makes me happy. I would add 'in my pants' but I seem to have misplaced them after some time in the sub-forum.
Throw a nice, easy distribution method in there and you have a winner.
