The Warriors Official Website (http://www.rockstargames.com/thewarriors/) is now up and running.
War looms over New York City when "The Warriors" are wrongly accused of killing a big time gang leader and now every gang in the city is out for revenge. "The Warriors" must make their way from one end of New York to their turf on the other side of the city. All that stands between "The Warriors" and their survival are 20 miles and 100,000 gang members. The streets are owned by the armies of the night and there's no turning back. "The Warriors" must fight for their lives as danger and uncertainty emerges from the city night.
The Website has 6 Screenshots, 1 Trailer and 2 Wallpapers you can download.

*Yawn*
I don't know about you but for me this is getting old. Every game Rockstar makes is identical to it's previous titles.

This game has kind of an "Escape from New York" feel to it. Nice afros.
May I be the first to say: "Warriors... come out and plaaaaayyay!"
(I wonder if any of the youngins here even know that this game is a license that looks exactly like the movie it came from).
I'm actually excited, even if it is just GTA in the Warriors universe. But I've read that the melee engine is where this game differs, with lots of combos and chaining. So, I'm thinking a modern, 3D River City Ransom. Could be very cool.

Can you dig it?
Maybe, but I would really like a new River City Ransom.

Boy, I sure hope that David Harris will be back to reprise his role as "Cochise."
DevDict, thanks for the IMDB link.. I found that the movie was loosely based on a 400 BC play called Anabasis, which included the death of Cyrus and a battle to reach the safety of the sea. Here is a page comparing the two: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warriors

Just wanted to add for the real oldies that the original Warriors screenplay was a modernization of a Zenophons's "Anabasis" (journey back) about Athenian mercenaries cought behind enemy lines and trying to get back to their home turf. Still a good read for those who like the classics. And by the way, with all of these cool new comics titles coming out, why don't they revive Classics Illustrated? Those were top notch books!

This looks kinda interesting, but the graphics look like the first Max Payne... low-res textures everywhere.

How about the 90% of us that do know the license and still don't care? :)
/seriously, I'm getting the rights to SILVER BULLET. I'm sure Gary Busey will lend his voice talents...
Meh, if you don't care, why ruin my nostalgia? ;)

Since Fallout was inspired by this post apocalyptic desert adventure, I believe you can name your character "Max" in Bethesda's upcoming RPG*.
But of course you know that. Call me a n00b.
*: If this game will be worthwile. Since I don't like Bethsoft much, I am somewhat cynical when it comes to F3.

One of my all time favorite movies. Still, I'll be waiting for the reviews on this one.

Well I'll wait for the reviews...but what an awesome movie license to revive.
They really should revive some of those old ones. They remake old movies and books all the time, why can't games do that more? Hell I'd even take a louis lamour-based game.
