TeamXbox (http://www.teamxbox.com/) has posted (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/8589/Shenmue-3-in-the-Works/) that Gargoyle Mechanics has announced support for the Xbox 360. Why is this significant? Because GM, a Japanese development studio, has employees that were part of the team that worked on the Shenmue series.

Now this doesn't mean that Shenmue 3 is coming to the Xbox 360, in fact according to PC.IGN (http://pc.ign.com/) SEGA has a PC MMORPG of Shenmue (http://pc.ign.com/objects/695/695840.html) in the works for Asian terrorites and they still own the franchise.

Thanks to Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/) for the last bit.

I love Shenmue 2 (although I never played the original Shenmue for Dreamcast) although some of the voice acting sucked.

Would you like to try a game of Lucky Hit?

How 'bout a game of Lucky Hit?

Have you seen any Chinese people? Did you see a black car, on the day it snowed?

eEK!

I loved the Shenmue games. Especially the cheesiness.

I don't see why this is such a big deal.

A) The end credits for Shenmue are nearly 10 minutes long. Hundreds of hundreds of names. I doubt the entire staff of Gargoyle Mechanics is a fraction of that size.

B) That said, the GM people just worked on a few aspects of Shenmue, then they went on to some other company. Like the Medal of Honor guys who left EA to make Call of Duty. They didn't make a new Medal of Honor game (although every WWII shooter is the same), and nobody expected them to.

C) Of course Sega still owns the Shenmue license. If they sold it it would've been huge news.

Also, Shenmue Online was announced almost 2 years ago.

I just want shenmue 3, I have been waiting since completing shenmue 2 on my dreamcast and its been a fucking while. This is one game I simply must have. It is how do you say "the complete package". I even love the cheesy music, repetative dialogue and the cupboard opening but now I must now what happens to Hazuki damnit.
