As far as the sale goes, still too much money to rebuy movies I already own. Now, the Matrix trilogy (with a download of the Animatrix) in HD-DVD for 22 bucks shipped, on the other hand, was totally worth it.

He's not claiming to be the best or anything he's just some guy who ended up maxing out his credit cards to produce his first movie, etc. I usually like the soundtracks to the movie as well. Not every store is "gouging". I have yet to pay more than $20 for an HD movie (except for Matrix box set but I even got that for $60)

Who are you accusing of gouging? The dozen or so movie studios independently releasing movies? The dozens and dozens of independent retail and online stores that are competing against each other for your dollar?

My advice...shop around...there are always sales going on.

I immediately dismissed Slevin as soon as I heard the title and saw that Josh Hartnett was in it. Just the other day I was checking out some movie reviews and, much to my surprise, it seems like a lot of people really liked it. I'm curious too if anyone around here has any comments on it...

Lucky Number Slevin is awesome. I too dismissed it outright. Only a friend showed me the error of my ways.

I'm told it's based as a loose remake of "Fist Full of Dollars" if that helps you any.

a couple of weeks ago, amazon offered a deal where if you bought 2 blu-ray movies on that day, you were able to get 10% every blu-ray disc you purchase for the rest of the year...

and during this blu-ray sale, i was able to pick up three blu-ray movies for $33.00 (free shipping + the 10% off my purchase)... thats $11 a DVD...
