Want you're favorite power ballad included in Rock Band? Well you just may get your wish. From Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=77428). Harmonix is offering you the chance to get four of your favourite songs into the upcoming rhythm action game Rock Band.All you have to do to join in is head over to the official website (http://www.rockband.com/index.php?do=/public/), click on the big white picture in front of you, and suggest a quartet of shaggy-haired power anthems for the game. Hit the jackpot and you could well see them included in the final version. Rock Band, from Guitar Hero developer Harmonix, will ship later this year alongside guitar, bass guitar, drum and microphone accessories. No word yet on the pricing of the accessories.

For the love of god, nobody suggest Stryper

I would so try this series if they chose a nine inch nails song...

i'd love to learn how to drum/guitar one of their songs. Of course i'm not sure it is possible with all of NIN's songs... That would so kick ass. I'd even buy a 360 if it was exclusive. So far i'm not a big fan of the songs so i opt out of guitar hero games.

So far, Guitar Hero has overdone it a bit with the modern metal and hair metal.

They need some Stevie Ray Vaughan in there. They need some Pink Floyd.

I would say the Beatles if I knew that they didn't have trouble getting the rights...

Just filled it out:

Clampdown- The Clash
Seven Nation Army- The White Stripes
Funk #49- The James Gang
All The Young Dudes- Mott The Hoople

Since it's Rock Band it was nice not having to worry if the guitar work was sick enough and think of the song as a whole.

Rush - Tom Sawyer

The great thing about Rush is you have a good balance of difficulty between guitar, bass and drums, something for everyone to do.

Yeah, that's why I thought of that song. It has classic moments for everyone, although some of the vocals in the song might make a persons head explode if they try to hit the same notes as Geddy :D

It's easy to come up with crazy guitar songs to suggest, but the theme of this game requires more balance I think for people to fully enjoy it.

Guns N Roses - Paradise City?

Anthrax - Caught in a Mosh :D (this would be a killer to play)

Oingo Boingo - Dead Mans Party

Edit: Any word on how they will score the vocalist? meaning, are points earned from pitch or just timing the lyrics right along with the words.

I would suggest any Meshuggah song as a hard song due to the crazy bass, drums and guitar work, but I cant see anyone doing the vocals correctly.

I agree with you 100%. Guitar Hero 1 had some decent stuff with Texas Flood, Crossroads, Ziggy Stardust, and Frankenstein. Even though I'm aching for the two-player modes, the songs in Guitar Hero 2 just tend to swing way too metal for my taste, and it looks like '80s Edition and GH3 are taking the same path.

I would love it if they threw in some George Thorogood or Bob Seger, but it looks like we're just going to keep drowning in Quiet Riot and Judas Priest.

Juke Box Hero - Foreigner
Falling to Pieces - Faith No More (Any Faith No More and I'd be so very happy, but good luck to vocalist)
Radar Love - Golden Earring
Bloodline - Slayer

I tried to envision what would be fun for everyone for the entire song and also what might actually be possible given royalty costs. I may have gotten greedy with the Slayer, but my gosh when will be get some Slayer in one of these game? Oh and am I the only that's been yearning for Juke Box Hero since the first GH was annonced? How obvious is this song I mean, one guitar, slung waaaay down low, it was a one way ticket, only one way to go. How does that not make it on to the first game? They totally dropped the ball on that.

For some really good guitar you have to have some Buckcherry on there. Lit Up would be good since I doubt Crazy Bitch would make it through.

Who Are you - The Who

Aerosmith - Young Lust, My Girl, F.I.N.E.

Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK

Ramones - Sheena is a Punk Rocker

Arctic Monkeys - Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor

Black Crowes - Stop kickin My Heart Around

Crystal Method's version of Magic Carpet Ride

Drowning Pool - Bodies

Eve 6 - Open road Song or Inside Out

George Thorogood - Gear Jammer or Ride on Josephine

Joan Jett - Bad Reputation

Letter to Cleo - Here and Now

Megadeth - pretty much anything from the Peace Sells album

Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy or Die Die My Darling

Wouldn't mind an Offspring song

Ozzy - Mr. Tinkertrain

Presidents of the US - Lump

Honestly I'd like to see anyone keep up with a Satyricon song, particularly the drummer. They can't even play a few of their songs in the States as the replacement drummer isn't fast enough and their real drummer isn't allowed in the country.

Oh and Opeth all the way. Probably too complicated for you average gamer, but still worth putting on there.

That's why I picked Seven Nation Army. That song is bass in yo FACE!

The White Stripes have no bassist. Its just the woman on drums and the guy and his guitar. On that song its just bass drum and his guitar was downtuned and had some effect pedal on which lowers the sound by another octave or something also (this was in Guitar magazine back when Elephant was released so like 3 years back or more I forget), there is no bass guitar. I did know their names also but I don't remember these days, was never a huge White Stripes fan particulary.

Live it's just Meg on drums and Jack on whatever he feels like playing. Elephant and on they got really heavy on overdubs and expanding their sound. So, no it's not a proper bass, but the point was that there is enough going on in that song to make it fun for four people to play. And go check out their latest single, Icky Thump, you just might become a fan (particulary).

Led Zeppelin - Misty Mountain Hop {Fun song and everybody gets a decent part}

Megadeth - Holy Wars {For pure thrash and speed}

Stevie Ray Vaughan - House is a' Rockin' {Very fun and upbeat, and everyone gets to join in fairly equally}

Lacuna Coil - Our Truth {Good song, and has a female singer, which should really change things up}

Steve Miller Band - Joker {Oh c'mon...surely I ain't the only one who'd love to have this song. I can imagine someone singing this drunk would provide many lulz.}

Angel is a no-no.Personally I'd put at least 8-10 Aerosmith songs on it, but if you're going to have a sappy ballad, I'd rather have Angel (which I have an admitted soft spot for) than say anything by Journey.
