Call of Duty 2 lets players experience four individual soldier stories as they overcome insurmountable odds in multiple campaigns. Players have the freedom to follow each of the four storylines through for the ultimate character-driven experience, or they can engage in the historic battles chronologically for quick hitting action.

Last week WorthPlaying (http://www.worthplaying.com) had a CoD 2 shaky cam trailer (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26172) giving you a taste of the Pointe du Hoc mission, and this week another 10 minute trailer showing off a mission from the North Africa campaign where you have to take over several pieces of heavily defended coastal artillery.

Check out the new Call of Duty 2 shaky cam trailer (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26311) (36mb) over at WorthPlaying.

This video is amazing. It was taken at E3 so it's running on Alpha Kits. Can't wait to play the full version.

PS; Killzone runs at 5 frames a second on the current Cell Alpha Kits. They are at 75% of their final power. Suck it down Sonyboys. :0)

Do you have any sort of source for that? Or is it one of those Interweb Rumors?

Anyways, every video I have seen of this game simply wows me. The action looks as though it is far more intense than any FPS to date, and the levels look absolutely ginormous. Also, this game is a prime example of how screenshots simply do not do next generation games [PC and consoles] justice. All of the spiffy new textures and lighting techniques can only be fully appreciated when seen in motion. The same thing goes for the particle effects, which quite frankly look astonishing in my opinion.

The only thing that slightly disappointed me was that fallen enemies seem to disappear after a short while. However, this should be less of a problem in this game than others, as it looks as thought the action will be too non stop for such a thing to be clearly noticeable. As long as the game maintains the level of intensity being shown, everything should be peachy.

Yeah, but I'd rather nip it in the bud than hear it regurgitated for the next couple of months.

Dear CoD2,
I am eagerly waiting for you to abuse me in the worst ways. I expect nothing less than to be shocked, set ablase, and doused with water. All I ask is that you don't touch my video card, it's too expensive to die so young.
Sincerely,
Worldcrafter's Computer

P.S. The safety word is "peacock".

Source. (http://www.jeux-france.com/images2_4_10872.html) Don't know if it's real or not.

'Anyways, every video I have seen of this game simply wows me. The action looks as though it is far more intense than any FPS to date, and the levels look absolutely ginormous."

When I saw this video, I thought three things:

1) I've played this before. It's called Call of Duty.

2) Wow, that guy sure has a hell of a lot of health.

3) You still have to win the war yourself! Yay!

I won't say the game is ugly; it isn't. I won't say the game is boring; there's an awful lot of shooting going on. I will, however, say that this kind of WW2 game has been done a thousand times, and adding better graphics isn't making me want to buy it any more.

That is a pretty convincing looking source. It seems quite plausible that the killzone demo chugged out at 5 fps considering the early hardware that they would have had to work with. Whether or not that hardware is really 75% of what the actual PS3 will be able to do or not is a lot more contentious however. I think its pretty clear that the killzone demo just represented what Sony *hopes* their console will be able to do. Whether or not it will ever do so is murky however. But while we are are hoping, lets hope that all the next gen consoles can do that level of realism. I actually fully expect that at least 2 of them will reach that level eventually. I think that even Nintendo's system (which will have to cut some corners to try to be profitable), has got a shot at it that kind of capability. I expect that all the next gen. systems are going to be complete monsters compared to what is needed for making complete and beautiful games. I think that the next gen. is going to be more about software than ever before. What kind of software will make game development faster and cheaper? What kind of software features will be consistently available/used for all the games on a given system and how do you get developers on board with that? In contrast, I feel that hardware seems to be heading for rather diminshing returns. But its late and I am starting to ramble...

Exactly.

People going nuts over this video probably didn't play CoD1 for the PC.

It's the same damn game only prettier:

1) Still on fucking rails, you go where devs tell you to go not where you want to go

2) Still scripted as hell

3) Still with indestructable environments :( What the shit? Throwing bunch of nades around the room didn't move a single chair ?!?
Some next-gen power, pfffft.

4) Still with disappearing bodies, bullet decals etc. Why? 1GB of RAM should be enough.

...

5) And I will still love it :) CoD1 is the best SP FPS ever made (right behind HL2).

CoD 1 was the most cinematic FPS to date...that was until Brothers in Arms. HOpefuly this one tops them both!

Anybody have a working link of the Point Du Hoc vid?

If Point Du Hoc is that beach with the cliff, then sure, here! (http://67.159.3.19/IWN_E3/Call%20of%20Duty%202%20-%20Normandy%20Demo%20-%20High.avi)

This looks very good, but very dull. After BF2, I just feel like some teamwork. I lost count of how many germans Mr. AfrikaKorp-killer had.

I loved playing both CoD and the expansion for PC. I'd love to play it again with a shinier coat of paint. Hopefully there have been some updates to the gameplay, but I'm more excited about seening this game running on something besides the Quake 3 engine.

Looks like HDR is the name of the game from here on out. I think I'll be dissapointed with any game not using it on the new systems.

People going nuts over this video probably didn't play CoD1 for the PC.Or it could be that they did play the first one for the PC, really liked it and think it’s great that they’re getting more with better graphics. I’m guessing since the game was #1 on the PC chart for months, most people did play CoD1 for the PC, including the people posting positive responses in this thread. About the game being on rails; not every game needs to be GTA. You can create a much more intense experience when your game doesn't allow the player to run freely eveyrwhere because you can control everything that happens to them and exactly when it happens.

This is the number 1 game on my list after playing it at E3.
