Good weekend to you! The question is as it will always be at this time - What are you playing this weekend? I picked up Star Trek 2 Empire at War and the expansion pack for it, Orion Pirates, in the bargin bin to try them out. I will also be doing a little WoW and some CoH. That is, if I have the time. What are your plans for the weekend?

too many games to play and catch up on. I'm in the process of deciding which 22-23" LCD HDTV to buy for games. Otherwise, I will pickup Guild Wars this weekend.

Battlefield 2, lots and lots of it. My old WoW guild has a couple of people who love a good FPS, so we're playing together and having a blast. That game is so rewarding once teamwork gets going

Get a CRT. They're half as expensive and actually have better image quality than LCD. Best Buy doesn't hook them up to an HD signal to trick you into thinking they're worse.

I'll be playing more Psychonauts. Everyone should go buy this game right now. It's available on XBox and PC and I think it's out on PS2 now as well. This game is amazingly fun and is one of the most humorous I've played in years. Go now.

Yeah. Battlefield 2. Goodtimes... Except when the other team has a bad ass in a jet bombing spawns and tanks left and right and we have no one on our side good enough to counter him/her.

(Suppressing urge to gripe about server browser yet again...)

Well, on the PC side, I am playing the upgrade game. Spec'ing out a new board, chip, memory, etc. All a necessary evil to prepare for the games of the future not to mention being able to run the present ones much better!

On the XBox, I hope to put some time in with Alien Hominid, Destroy all Humans, and Conker.

Finishing up Paper Mario Thousand Year Door. Still enjoying the game but I take back my "Oh Crap, This game is awesome!" award. Just waaaaaay too much pointless backtracking.

This one part after Chapter 5 really pissed me off more than anything. Anyone who's played it knows what I'm talking about. I wouldn't have minded going back to Pirate Island to get Pianta's Daughter if I hadn't just came from there.

I'm unfortunately stuck at work today, so there will be little game playing from me. Tomorrow, on the other hand, will be full of the following:

Cold Winter (PS2) - What Shadow Ops for Xbox and PC should have been.
Winning Eleven 8 (Xbox) - Can't. Stop. Playing.
Worldwide Soccer Manager 2005 (PC) - Glasgow Rangers (my team) are in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League; a surprise for me since I failed at the qaulifiers last season!
Rome: Total War (PC) - But only if I have sufficient time to devote to it.
Burnout 3: Takedown (Xbox) - Hands-down the best arcade racer ever made.

I'll probably mow the lawn and do some housework in between all of the above. Oh, and my wife and I are going to see Batman Begins for the first time.

I was able to get work off today, but alas, I have to spend it in the 8 hours of hell known as MY COUSIN'S WEDDING.

Hopefully we'll get home at a decent time and I can play some WoW or Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. I'm going through my collection to find games that I haven't spent much time on and I'm loving Stranger's Wrath.

I'll probably play some Phantom Brave as well. Great TRPG.

Rise of Nations, I never tried it when it came back in 03. It is great. I also intend to finish Splinter cell CT this weekend. If I have time I may even put a few hours into my second play through of Vampire:Bloodlines.

Doing a trip to the in-laws this weekend (today actually), so not much time for gaming - especially since I'm not much of a handheld guy. Nonetheless, I did get in some quality time with Destroy All Humans.

I also reinstalled Starcraft and had the computer throughly trounce me. I guess that's character building... :(

i've been huddled over and before the toilet this whole week. I want to play San Andreas for PC but i cant even sit up straight for more than a few minutes. Plus it's going to be 100 degrees today in Maine, so i'm trying to work up the strength to go back home to my parents pool...i just dont want to taint the chlorine with a film of brown water...

This weekend I am playing GTA:SA and Kirby Canvas Curse, talk about playing two totally different games but both are great.

SWAT 4 coop and NWN coop with a random dungeon generator. Also, some Doom 3 with the duct-tape mod. I might work on my OFP project tomorrow.

I'm still looking for PC coop recommendations. Old/new, demo/full, any genre.

Just finished God of War last night (mixed feelings on this one for me, but the extra unlockable stuff was great). I picked up six games at a recent buy 2 get 1 free sale so have to decide which to start on next (God of War was the first of them). I will probably start either Doom3 or Psychonauts. I will probably also work on Mario 64DS and Minish Cap a bit each (nearly done with both) while I enjoy a little sun this afternoon and nurse a slight hangover from last nights Chocolate Martinis.

I love summer weekends.

Still playing WoW, since a friend finally picked it up and joined, I'm helping him play along.

On my DS, about half-way through Kirby's Canvas Curse. Damn what a great game.

And I still intend to finish off the last 1/3 of Psychonauts sooner or later this week.

You're a very sick person, VoodooKarma. The conservative politicians and lobbyists can see right through you. You're attracting females by playing Kirby then, when you've lured them into your trap, you're going to kill them and steal their money. Then, when the cops show up, you'll kill an officer of the law, steal his or her car and run over old ladies while you escape listening to Anthrax or Slayer.

Any society that allows people to play such widley different games deserves what it gets.

hehe...I play Kirby during the day when I get a chance and GTA:SA after the daughter goes to bed. She got up late last night to get a drink of water and happened to walk in during a cutscene where Officer Tenpenny drops about 5 F-bombs, I am going to have to hook up a motion sensor to my living room! The good thing about playing Kirby is it washes away that dirty feeling I get after killing cops and hookers in GTA :D .

Excellent. Definitely the best game I've played in a long time. The last game to absorb me like this was KOTOR and I play a lot of games.

Sick person AND an irresponsible parent! Just wait till Sen. Lieberman gets a wiff of this...

I remember playing something a while ago which contained it's fair share of violence and f-bombs (Kingpin, perhaps) and my in-laws stopped by unexpectedly to drop off some plants. I didn't hear them come in due to the probably excessive volume of my PC speakers. My mother-in-law's face was classic when she heard what was going on and when she saw me blowing the snot out of some NPC.

Playing some WoW - both brothers and my nephew now play, so that makes it even more entertaining - trying to get my Hunter to 50. Too bad I'm on a mission where I run around looking for dirt. Bah. Also playing the work game. Not nearly as fun, but the money out-does the exp rewards.

And grats to Bap on his last free weekend. It'll be five years for me this August. Best decision I ever made. Well, that and purchasing Killer Klowns from Outer Space on DVD.

Oooh, my wife is a 4th-year medical student and I remember the days of studying for the MCAT.

I just called her and asked her what advice she would give to anyone currently studying for it and she said, "do lots of practice questions, allow plenty of time to study and read each question thoroughly before answering it."

Best of luck.

Like others in this thread, I'll be picking up Destroy All Humans (Xbox) later today and kicking it alien-style tonight and tomorrow. It looks to have that Mars Attacks! feel and I just can't afford to pass that up. Monday or Tuesday (my "other" weekend), I'm going to have to decide between grabbing a DS and picking up an LCD monitor to replace my slowly dying CRT (for PC - I'm not replacing my cheapo 27" HDTV until the 360 hits).

I'm still hopelessly addicted to WoW. My small guild continues to grow little by little and that's cool.

My friends and I discovered the territories gametypes in Halo 2 and have been playing that obsessively. Makes it a little more even as I can't just own them like when we deathmatch.

Are you part of any writing groups, slim? I was thinking of making a thread at one time for artistic outlets, to see who was in the mood to share their writing, or just to commune openly about such endeavors. I know Evil himself enjoys writing, as well. If it's one thing I miss about my creative writing groups/classes in college, it's the osmosis of creative juices and critiques.

I'm hawking a story right now (in the fantasy/sci-fi publications but i fear it doesnt have too much of either to suffice a place there) but currently I'm just brainstorming and doing little else. I just took a shower though, and that's the best place for my thinking. Plucked a new idea out of the shower head, too.

I'm mostly just playing around with nonfiction, gaming-related pieces right now. If I think something is interesting, I toss it up here, usually. I'm willing to read through short stories, though I don't have a ton of time for critiques.

I can't stop playing bf2.

Even if all the servers were empty, I'd still be cruising around somewhere in an attack copter, flying under bridges, buzzing oil rigs, rocketing SAM sites, etc.

Considering the crap this game makes you put up with sometimes(crashes, crappy browser, etc. ad nauseum), it must be pretty good to grab me like this.
