View Full Version : Nintendo Revolution Ad - coming out March 06?
A picture from an unconfirmed source shows what looks to be an ad for the Nintendo Revolution, and saying that it will "come" on March 2006.

Aren't they always? This should come as no surprise.

Why not? Making little jabs at the competition is fun. Remember Microsoft's Playstation 2 internet kit? That was great.
I love it. Perhaps the Revlution is that Nintendo's new console won't have a box or a case at all. The disc just floats in mid air processing data off of air currents.

I hope it comes out in March. Maybe it's just wishful thinking?

I'd love to see Nintendo and MS fight it out in the next round, with Nintendo coming out on top. Their trojan horse was Rare, and maybe now that it's infiltrated MS and PD0 winds up a clunker, people will wait it out for the mysterious Revolution.
:) of course this is just a wild theory. Regardless, Nintendo will be my favorite in the next round. I was a Sony sympathizer for the last 2 generations...now I think i might just realign myself with the Plumber...
...3rd party support....PLEASE GOD!

If I remember correctly. the Big N and MS where the closes when it came to console sales. It makes sense that there are targeting the number 2 spot. As they have had it for a while befor the xbox came out.

Taking shots at the XBox I see...looks like the next gen is going to be a mud slinging match.... I wouldn’t assume that. I think the “Box” they might be referring to is the console itself, since the thing outside the box; the controller and their wireless is their big deal. To me that phrase just means don’t think about the hardware the box has but rather what can be done with the other things they provide.

WTF?
I'm not understanding the ad or N at all.

I don't think this has *anything* at all to do with Xbox. Have you people never heard the expression "think outside the box?" That having something to do with Xbox is just people overanalyzing things. No point in Nintendo taking a stab at Microsoft's console specifically really.
Considering that the Ad is slated to release about the same time as the Xbox360, it is definately a direct jab at the xbox360.
Regardless, I LOVE minimalist ads (espicially the original DS touch ones) This new one is sexy.

Well you see it's Bap, so any time he sees the word box, it means Xbox. So if he sees jack in the box, he thinks someone named Jack is living in the Xbox. Although from the size of the X/x360 Jack would have lots of room to live with. :D

Yeah. I enjoyed the 'all your bees are belong to us' image (http://ilovesneeze.com/) as well.

I doubt it was a big factor in the wording, but noticing and massaging little details like that is pretty important in PR and marketing. Nintendo tends to be more subtle then Kutaragi and Bach, is all.

This ad looks totally awesome, although March 2005... a bit early, ain't it?
And I think it's a great little jab at MS. Go N!

i think this ad looks too crap and generic to be genuine. nintendo's ad campaigns lately have been very entertaining and this isn't. you honestly think they would use such a generic slogan like "think outside the box"?
nintendo: synergistic fun paradigms. c'mon people! think outside the box!

Right, because "touching is good" was not at all generic.

Right, because "touching is good" was not at all generic.
And "It's good to play together" isn't one of the worst slogans ever.

Well...BOX is a different color and stands out on purpose...what color is it? Looks greenish to me....combine that with the fact it's target for an XBox 360 launch...that's why...

So the mysterious controller will be... A HUMAN HEAD?!
That at shows the top of the controller, anyway, as well as its lcd screen. That's it at the bottom.
The bottom is an artsy outlining of the front of the current Revolution box design. The thick line is the disk slot, the open rectangles are the buttons/SD card flap, and the dot is the power light.

Mid 90s buisness cliche, logo that reminds me of pong. So the revolution is a time machine?
So what, do we post every fake pic that shows up in video game forums, or just the ones that are console-related?
