View Full Version : Weekend Gamer: What are you playing?

It has happened. I have finally joined the console crowd. (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30452) My wife got me a Wii for my birthday. It came at a great time with a four day weekend ahead. Now to get some games for it. I hear the Mario games are good, as well as the Godfather and Elebots (I may have spelled that one wrong). What about Zelda - Twlight Princess? Blazing Angels? Prince of Persia? Thoughts? When my kids take over on playing it, then I will be back to playing some Command and Conquer 3 on the PC. It is good to see the good ol' Nod up to their tricks. Don't forget to thank a soldier from any war - they could have easily been one of those we are to remember this weekend (its not the soldier who decides the war, its the politicians). What will you be playing this long memorial day weekend?

I've got Halo 3 and Warhawk betas and I'm still going through .hack//G.U. Vol 1. I'm about 10 hours in and it looks great with the new PS3 update.

Halo 3. Nothing else :)

Zelda is (well, was) my favorite title on the Wii so far - at least for a long-term gaming experience. Wii Sports and Wii Play are fun with a crowd. Rayman Raving Rabbits is probably the best third party title so far - that, or maybe Elebits. Enjoy!

Nothing. Im ill. :(

If I feel a bit better, maybe a bit more TD:U or perhaps a bit of Catan.

Recently re-installed Fallout 2 for a play through, might give it a bit of loving too.

I've been playing a lot of DBZ: Tenkaichi Budokai 2 on the Wii, along with Star Fox 64. I've been tempted to play some Disgaea, but I dunno, I just never get around to it. I may just listen to the soundtrack for a bit. Sounds like my weekend, pretty much, may work on a new Furcadia dream or something.

Halo 3 beta, WoW, and I want to finish Rogue Galaxy - but I might not as I have pretty much lost interest. I want a new game and would buy something iffy if the release schedule wasn't so bad. (Would buy Odin Sphere, but my friend has it and is going to loan it to me next week).

Having finished Neverwinter Nights 2, after after two previous failed attempts, I am now playing Supreme Commander again, as the Aeon, and finally with the Cybrans. After which I will try multiplayer.

just finished Dead Rising for the second time. Still haven't got the true ending so thinking about starting it up for a 3rd time. Maybe not.

Maybe some Oblivion again, since the bug thing haven't really gotten into into it anymore. Shivering Isles is still partially unexplored.

Still got to finish Okami.

GoW2 needs to be beaten in normal mode.

Obtained a copy of Parasite Eve 2 for PSONE, quite nice if you can look past ancient design.

And I seriously want some new games. The Darkness, I'm waiting for you!!

I might try to slip in some Oblivion this afternoon, but mostly I'm going to be playing the "Happily Married for 24 Years" game with my wife! Our anniversary is on Monday but we're running away for the weekend!

Not going to miss the computer at all! :D

For me, my wife and a few friends, it's another Total Comfort Weekend (tm). This includes: smoking inordinate amounts of brisket, sausages, tomatoes (for salsa), and anything else that can go in the smoker; three days of video games including Halo3, Guitar Hero 2, Super Paper Mario, Excite Truck, Wii Sports, Vanguard (don't start with me, I likes what I likes), and whatever else jumps out at me during the final stop-off at Gamestop; beer, lots of beer, St. Peter's Old Style Porter, Young's Double Chocolate Stout and Oatmeal Stout, Yeti Imperial Stout, and others.

The only rule of Total Comfort Weekend is that you must enjoy total comfort at all times- standing, walking, and other wasteful calorie burning activities are discouraged. Anything unrelated to gaming, eating and drinking is frowned upon.

I just picked up a PSP this last week (again, I used to have one a few years back when they fist came out) and this time I'm really able to use it (usb cable and a wireless network at home now). I'm playing Metal Gear Ac!d 2 on it, I loved the first one and now the second one is only $10 used, so I picked up a copy. The PSP came with Dexter as well for free when I bought it from Target!

Also, I'm back into WoW after a year long hiatus, so I'm having a good time building up my Shaman. I recently picked up a Rare hammer for 50 silver on the auction house! Gotta love the n00bs!

Jetherik, I'd highly recommend Super Paper Mario and Elebits, along with Excite Truck as must-buys for the Wii. Well, and Zelda, of course. Warioware and Rayman Raving Rabbids are both great, but I'd try to get them used/on sale/not for full price. They're just not worth the full cost.

As for me, I'll be playing Ouendan 2, Etrian Odyssey (the first dungeon crawler I've played since Eye Of The Beholder that doesn't make me want to kill the developers) and Odin Sphere. I'm also trying to get past the Corpser in Gears and I'll probably play a bit of something or other on the 360 when I have a free moment this weekend. Oh, and some Blazing Lazers on the Wii. All hail the VC!

And I did just pick up Titan Quest on the PC for dirt cheap yesterday, so I might take that for a whirl tonight or else play some WoW if I can get the login screen to come up... I couldn't log in last night, but I think my computer just needed a reboot...

Oh, and want to know what I WON'T be playing? The bloody Halo 3 beta. I am getting sick of turning on my 360 and getting bombarded by 8 invites to play the thing.

Now, I COULD have the beta, but I don't want to. So there. Neener neener.

I'm still loving the classic Planescape: Torment and getting towards the end. My only complaint so far is just the incredible amount of item gathering and delivering you do. Almost every single person you talk to wants you to go gather a little trinket before they'll talk. That gets really old after 20~30 hours.

Super Smash Bros Melee!

Lord of the Rings Online will dominate my game time this weekend. I've been getting the urge to pop Twilight Princess back in again. If only I could take my existing link through all the boss fights again. That game needs a boss rush mode.

Zelda on the Wii, and various Solo PC games. Paid to move my main Horde toon from Earthen Ring to Undermine. Hopefully playing on a realm that has a bunch of local friends will kick-start my bored WOW experience. If not then it is time for me to cancel and walk away.

Looks like I may actually get my very own WoW account and start working up a Tauren Druid, since that worked so well whan I tried making a character on a friend's account.

Other than that, Wi-Fi Mario Kart and a little X-Com or Dark Crusade and I'm probably covered.

Odin Sphere for the most part.

The game is absolutely gorgeous.

Odin Sphere here too.

And Jetherik, Zelda is the game you have to get if you have a Wii. I've also been having fun with Kororinpa Marble Mania which got so-so reviews which I think is really undeserving.

And if this is your first console, keep an eye out for the reasonably priced Resident Evil 4 for Wii next month, it was a huge critical success and this looks like it'll be the ultimate version of the game. I sort of envy those who haven't played it as I spoiled it (only a little) playing through the PS2 version.

I graduate highschool in 6 hours and 30 minutes. We have a thing called project graduation all night, a lock in at the school with games, door prizes (It's really elaborate, nothing they just throw together). There are casino games, ball room dance lessons, and other stuff I don't know about.

Then, I leave for Louisiana tomorrow morning. I'll probably only get some gaming in on the way home because I'll be sleeping the whole 6 hour trip to my grandparents house. I still have Final Fantasy III to work on.

Half the fun was trying to get into trouble and not get caught. Drinkin in the bushes, smoking on tom sawyers island, you name it. Theres security cameras EVERYWHERE in Disneyland tho, so easier said then done. I have a feeling they're even in the bathrooms watching me take a goofy.
