Halo 3 Beta and release date... Crackdown owners crack up... Starcraft, too (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30183&highlight=starcraft)! What a week for big news. In the event you missed any of it, I now present you with week six of Fireside Roundup.
Firstly, and most importantly, Evil Avatar made the news (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29939)! Hopefully that will afford us the legitimacy some people think we need before we can be taken seriously.
Oh, and the above happened in no small part due to the impending release (at the time) of the Halo 3 beta (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29977), which rolled out to much fanfare during the week. Not everyone was happy, however, as there was a mighty SNAFU with the beta roll out for Crackdown owners (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30031). Order was (not so) swiftly resumed later in the day (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30050). Peter Moore was said to be having a good day (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30007), but this was before the above problems. I suspect that changed somewhat.
On to some distressing news for Ziff Davis, who posted large losses for the first quarter of 2007. How large? How does a 44% drop in revenue sound (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29951)?
Speaking of losses, it's time for Sony corner... This week I'll bring to your attention the RUMOR that MGS4 is being delayed till some time in 2008 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29912). Shocking. As was the revelation that Sony's game group lost a staggering two billion dollars (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30029) ($2,000,000,000) in the last fiscal year! Staggering! Having said that, two new PS3 exclusives (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30082) were unveiled.
What else...?
Halo 3 release date! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29990)
Eidos confirmed a new Deus Ex game is in the works! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30097)
Coverage of Sony's Gamer Day! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30058)
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena was announced! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30223)
American McGee's Grimm revealed! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30150)
Well that just about does it for this week. Stay tuned for some more "earth-shattering" news in the coming week. Don't worry if you miss it when it happens - you'll read about it in week seven of Fireside Roundup.
