Brand-spanking new in-game PGR3 screens (http://www.bizarreonline.net/index.php?action=fullnews&showcomments=1&id=30) are now on Bizarre Creation's website.

High-definition - these stills are exactly how the game will appear on your HDTV.
New York City - NYC returns to the Gotham franchise like never before. Take a close look at the buildings to see the detail.
Realistic camera - simulating real-life effects like depth of field and motion blur for increased realism.
Advanced lighting effects - new reflections on car bodies, shadows on the tarmac, and shiny windscreen glare from the sun.
Crowd - Thousands of motion-captured, fully 3d spectators line the streets, and react to your racing.
New cars - Featured here are the McLaren F1 LM, the Ferrari 360CS, and the TVR Sagaris.

Update: Also check out Worthplaying's features list (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26265) for a better idea of what the new installment has to offer.

I can't wait to see what this game looks like in motion.

Yeah maybe in motion i'll get a better impression but these screenshots don't really wow me.

YAWN.

Nothing special. If this is what 360 games will look like, the console won't last beyond 1.5 years.

Unless the PS3 looks similar.

PC please.

OMG SONY AND XBOX ARE TEH DOOMED! there, it's been said.

This series has always been about great gameplay and moderate visuals (at best). I really enjoyed PGR1 and 2 and this is on my launch list.

Amen. This is possibly at the top of my list of games to get at launch.

That picture in motion in 720P on my 46" will wow me.

Those are the worst screenshots ever released.

Reminds me of that episode of the apprentice where they put blurry pictures in their ad for cars. WHY THE HELL DO YOU DO THIS?!

looks...good.. not enough to wow me, but really great nonetheless, i think it will look much better in motion

Screenshots just can't show off the visuals of games effectively anymore.

Exactly. Still a few months left of polish left anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it. They've only had true X360 hardware for how long.....a few weeks?

Yawn to you, pal.

Another ridiculous statement. They still look good, and are still above what other titles look like now. So why complain ? Comment where u think they need improvement, but just blatant bashing is just dumb. So yeah because PG3 doesn't make your standards then everyone else will think it's shit, so they won't buy an Xbox on your generalization.....Right. Gotta love the internet!

You know what's wierd? I thought going into this threat that everybody would be blown away by the screenshots like I was. Except everybody thinks they're nothing special. Are we looking at the same shots? WTF?!?!?

I couldn't agree more. Am I seriously the only one still impressed at the complete visual leap in such a short span of time? I mean, how is it that most are/were impressed with, say, Resident Evil when it was first released and now this crap looks ridiculously close to photo realistic (it isn't, I'll grant you, but I mean come on....a video game with graphics that detailed? seriously) and there's whining and statments about how people are unimpressed. I guess I just don't get it.

Splinter Cell: CT on this gen amazes me. That business is impressive. I loathe the racing genre and I would pick this up based on the graphics alone. There seriously seems to be no pleasing some people. It might get to a point where they use real people in games with real backgrounds filmed in real locations and half of the gaming population (more than half, come to think of it) would complain that the characters looked too real.

Whatever.

i think these shots look great. not photorealistic, but with a art style that is better than PR, IMO.

might be a launch title for me.

See, I think what's happening is that future technology has allowed future internet forum posters to post into the past. In ten years these shots will probably look like crap. Don't hate them for being from an advanced society with photorealistic games!

I only compare what I see to what my computer can do right now. I assume anyone that is impressed by these just does not have a good system. No big deal.

You know what happens when you assume.

Taco

Alternative to that assumption? You are blind. Literally. Must have a a Braille CRT or something. Failing that I'll go with crazy and/or retarded.

The XBox1 didn't impress me to much, but it was more impressive than what I've seen thus far. Gears of War is the only possible exception, but I wouldn't be surprised to be playing games like that on my current PC when available.

There are a few things in those screen shots that really do stand out. The detail on the buildings in the backgound and the lighting/detail on the cars are both impressive. These days you have to look at the finer details to see the improvements. It's not like the jump from Playstation to PS2 where you went from a character model that looked like it was made out of 5 triangles to something that actually looked like what it was suppsed to represent. Anybody who is turning their nose up at those screenshots better realize that you aren't going to be seeing anything better out of the PS3 or Revolution at launch either.

Geez, I didn't know they made horses that high...

Anyways, if you can't see why these screens are impressive...well...I guess I just feel bad for you...

So, you're saying this NYC pic is unimpressive? You gotta lot of soul searching to do.

Other shots from that site look a lot better than these three new shitty ones. Wonder what it's actually going to look like.

Yes, I type on my computer, reading what you've put on screen, and then I come back to my computer and respond to what you've said. While blind. Business associates call me Mr. Murdock. My friends call me Matt.

And, ladies and gentlemen, a Taco has resorted to the last vestige of hope one has in the world of disagreements: name-calling. I love it when ten year olds are allowed to play on their parent's computers.

Taco

What name calling. I was going for the literal form, not an empty name calling.

Oh, nice. Totally forgot difference of opinion automatically makes the other guy handicapped. So I can then guess that you and the rest of your family are prejudice based off of your blatant assumptions? Looks like your parents did a stand-up job with you.

Taco
06-24-2005, 10:42 AM
Not in all situations. But in this case those three shots that were linked to at the top of this new bit are ass. There are only three logical explanations for someone being impressed by them.

Attacking my parents? That's a first for me.

Blue
06-24-2005, 11:04 AM
Just saying that if, to you, there are only 3 logical explanations, then to me, I would have to then say - with you - there are only 2 logical explanations.

I am a bit crazy.

It's my parents fault...

Blue
06-24-2005, 11:53 AM
Well then okay. Never said I too wasn't crazy and/or retarded due to my upbringing. Wait a minute....I think we're both in this together then. Hmmmm.
