This is definitely something I could get behind - gamers to begin an actual baseball game. It's good to play together.

Equipped with Microsoft Xbox game controllers instead of baseball gloves and bats, two video gamers will climb into recliner chairs around home plate at Community America Ballpark and slug it out on the park’s 16- by 24-foot video screen.

Their scores from playing two innings of MVP Baseball 2005 on an Xbox will stand when the T-Bones and Flyers take the field to finish the last seven innings of the game.
Right here. (http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/11944265.htm)

Take me out to the ballpark.

Umm... okay.

I can see whatever team is behind come the 3rd Inning being pretty pissed they're dealt a handicap right out of the dugout that they had no hand in. Ah well.

But, both gamers are T-bones fans!

The other team will be at a disadvantage, they should have run a similar tounament to get a player.

Stuff like this makes me mad. It will bring a few kids to the ballpark for a few innings, but turn off 90% of the people who go there to WATCH BASEBALL. What if in the 2 innings of videogame play one team gets beat on, and starts the real game down 12-1? There is no way anybody would stick around for that, and a few people would be angry enough to leave and never come back. Bad idea, bad promotion, and it will probably have the opposite effect of what they are hoping for.

Silliness...

Kind of reminds me of people on-line dating, then getting together to "meet", but when they all meet at some "party", they end up jumping on-line to talk to each other.

Just sad.
